EPISTROPHE (by n1n3CAL and UPG Uzumaki) After the Covenant took over this human power facility, it was turned into an enemy base against the human race. 4-8 players Overview 1 Well I'm back everyone with yet another map. This one is called Epistrophe (eh pis trauf ee). It is a map inspired in a way by Colossus but nothing like it entirely. It's background story is stated in the details. It was originally a human power facility. But as a tactical war manuever, the Covenant not only eliminated the human power supply, but turned it to a base. So in case you don't know, there will be very few human weapons. Here's the weapon list: 2 Battle Rifles 4 Carbines 4 Plasma Rifles 1 Beam Rifle 1 Plasma Pistol 1 Spartan Laser 1 Flamethrower 1 Needler 1 Plasma Cannon 2 Spike Grenades 2 Plasma Grenades Despite what many of you may think by looking at the list, this set up is pretty well balanced and works well in gameplay. And keep in mind, when this map was made, some boxes represent structures and some represent well...boxes. Overview 2 So there are two main specific structures that signify the map: the giant cannon and the archway. The archway is one of the highest points on the map for sniping and the cannon makes for great escapes or jumping into battle. Another feature that seperates this map from my previous is that it incorporates a vehicle (hence the spartan laser). Ghost Cannon Archway The cannon is accessed by going under it and simply jumping. This is demonstrated in an action shot that will be further along in the thread. Though you can barely see it in the bottom right hand corner of the archway picture, there is a small shielded off box area where the flamethrower spawns. The spartan laser spawns closer to the defenders as the beam rifle to the attackers. It is the central power weapon of the map. Ghost is pretty much central as well. My friend UPG Uzumaki came in and helped me finish up, place spawns and weapons,a nd contributed in almost everyway so I cannot take full credit for this map. This map is set up for slayer, flag, and bomb varients only. Recommended players are the usual 4-8. Don't forget to rate and comment preferably on both the B.net and here. well this looks purdy cool. i like the archway its pretty cool. and the layout of this map is pretty cool too. when i first saw this i was like why did he remake epitaph but then i lookd at the pics and i was like nvm. yeah i dont see much interlocking but as long as gameplay is good than interlocking is not needed. good job!!
It looks good. I understand why its so open, I can imagine that you would want the Ghost to be easily maneuverable around the map. Other than being a little too open, it's well forged. I would download and play on it, but I only get a 100 maps, which Bungie frequently reminds me of.
Nice merging and interlocking, great map design. I really like how you had a backstory to your map (big fan of backstories XD) and that the story was incorporated into your map (Covenant weapons). That just goes forth to give your map more originality and flavor. Also, the giant cannon thing is effin cool. Where exactly does it shoot you, on top of the arch? Anyway, from what I can see, the map looks well balanced. There are enough counters to the Ghost that it doesn't seem overpowered.Everything looks like it would flow well. I just really like the entire general layout and construction of this map... Everything about it basically owns. There aren't any major glaring flaws I can find, some people would bag on you for including a flamethrower but I think it's hilarious =) 4.5/5
wow it looks like a great map. What really brought my eyes to it was the elevator. I have seen a lot of elevators on halo, but none like this. Great originality. I like the map has great interlocking and geomerging. 5/5
Cool. I love your interlocking, and people have totally forgotten about the ghost when it comes to making maps on Foundry. Awesome. I also loved the idea that you didn't leave the two blue areas blank. Even awesomer. I give it a 5/5.
Actually it's kind of random at times. It was suppose to eject you into the center of the map in front of it but sometimes when you go in at certain angles it can throw you over the wall that extends off the archway. As for the flamethrower I needed some sort of central weapon to counter the Ghost. I thought of sentinel beam but I already had laser and beam rifle which are two great long distance weapons. So scrolled to the bottom of the list and used what I had. Because this map was inspired by H2 Collosus, the cannon was the cornerstone of the map. Though while constructing the map I thought it would just be another aesthetic, during play tests it proved useful for carrying the flag.
well this is extremly good even the interlocking and the arch coulde have looked neater but the cannon is great 4/5
This looks pretty cool. I like the archway, that's what really caught my eye. I'll DL and expect some fun games!
