hey its shade again. on the youtube series inside halo 3 i heard about an update that will allow people to bypass the need for a capture card. this interested me but however i do not know how to access/save the game footage files to my pc nor do i know when the update is comming out. if anyone knows anything about this please inform me of what to do. link to video (kind of before the middle they talk about the update):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAOQWrFArQI
Don't worry. I'll bet you'll use it for other games. Halo 3 will be of the few games that offers video downloads directly to your computer. I also think Far Cry 2 will support this. =) Capture cards are still good, even after hearing this, I was still on the mindset of getting one for games like LittleBigPlanet and Fallout 3. It'll even come in handy for general usage like showing off the NXE...
I'd imagine that since this is hosted on Bungie's servers, the quality won't be great. So those of you who already have capture cards or were considering buying one may still find the investment worthwhile. Plus the Bungie.net video conversion will only work from theater mode, so if you wanted to capture that oh so hilarious voice chat or pre/post-game lobbies you still need a capture card. This will still set a new standard of excellence for showing off your maps on this site though, in addition to screens it will be reasonable to expect a film too, unless this conversion service requires bungie pro, which it might.
It does. Which sucks cause I don't want Bungie Pro. I might get it if the rendering is good enough, which I doubt will be.
