It seems the opposite of Halo 2 is happening in Halo 3. Instead of wanting to use an elite but not being able to because it puts me at a disadvantage, I am becoming sick and tired of seeing them used to people's advantage. There have been many times i have been playing SWAT and an easy kill turns into a humiliating death. I try to shoot at an elite from behind but I can's get a head shot because their head is impossible to hit from behind. On top of that when shooting them from the front you have to shoot lower, and when they are jumping their head position moves. I could just use an elite like the others but I feel like I would just be contributing to the problem. I don't mean to rant but I would like to know if anyone else feels the same way.
well, it may be cheap to use a glitch to win MM but still, its ranked so people are going to do whatever it tskes to win.
I agree. I think that it is lame that people use elites in swat and MLG because it does give them an advantage. In the actual MLG circuits and in Gamebattles you are not allowed to be an elite for this very reason. You are actually disquilified if you try to use an elite, which I find a great rule.
my friend said they fixed the hitpoint on the elites so if u get them on the back of the neck it will count as a headshot.
I think they should make a rule for MM SWAT that forces people to play as a spartan just to level the playing field. The back of the head is not the only problem, the head moves when they jump and from the front when walking the head is more toward the center of the body.
somebody just suffered a humiliating loss in swat and came directly from b.net........ if you can't beat em, join em! Or stop playing swat... or suck it up...
MLG and SWAT should be Elite free. It truly pisses me off whenever I shoot someone in the head and they don't even die. I recently lost a game of SWAT to a team of all Elites. I can understand playing as them in Social playlists, but ranked playlists such as SWAT... no.
Elites in SWAT can be a burden more of a blessing some situations, your head is longer so from the side it's way easier to get a head shot on a Elite than a Spartan but from behind is another story. The only good thing about unable to shoot someone in back multiple times when it should be a one hit kill is that they can't retaliate unless they turn around which can make them vulnerable to an easy head shot, unless a enemy teammate of the Elite you're shooting at gets you but that could happen anywhere at any time whenever you play as an Elite or Spartan.
Elites are notoriously hard to headshot. We get it. The suck in swat because of it (i mean suck to play against) but are well balanced in normal play. They have a bigger body so shots are easier, but are harder to headshot, so die slower. At least, I think that's the reasoning behind the way they work in Halo3. I don't play swat, because of this, and some other reasons. =P
I couldn't care less about elites. I don't use them for your reasons, and I just play the game as my spartan. But I love SWAT, and if you're good enough you should notice that it doesn't make a difference. I usually do much better than anyone else in SWAT and I'm a spartan. It doesn't make a difference. If you play as an elite (if you are usually a spartan) in SWAT, then you suck and you need an advantage over other players.
You couldn't care less. Anyway, I'm proud to say I play as an Elite all the time. I hate it when people just use the Elite for the advantage. I've learned to deal with it. You all should too. People will do whatever it takes.
I still remain unconvinced that Elites are harder to kill in SWAT. Many of times I play matchmaking and get a spartan to one shot and no matter how many times I shoot the person in the head. They seem to walk behind cover unscathed. This holds true with both Elites and Spartan. Two reasons why it does not matter if you are an Elite or a Spartan. If the connections in-game are not superb you will have a hard time killing a spartan or an elite. The second reason is that many of the large elite clans of halo3 (you have to be an elite) created the fallacy that Elites are better in swat, because they don't die. They did this to raise the elite population. That is all.
its possible headshot an elite from behind, you got to shoot between a crack were there shoulder blade is
Thanks, and it doesn't bother me that people play as elites all the time, but what annoys me is when I ask a party, "hey guys, why are you all elites?" and they reply, "oh we were just about to play some SWAT".
You people only complain don't you? Look at the advantage of Elites in a different gametype. You have twice the head size to shoot at. It's easier to get headshots against Elites than Spartans. Therefore, Elites die easier.
I know. That's what I was saying. Transaction, where did you hear this about all Elite clans starting the rumor?
Stop being such bitches and learn how to aim yer BR. I usually have no trouble with Elites in swat, and I find that they go down just as easily as Spartans do.
