I heard today that you can use rock band instruments on both Rock band 2 and Guitar hero 4 .. Is this true? If it is im going to get them both because they both have songs which i love but Rock band 2 has more songs which i love =] And the Guitar hero 4 music maker looks really good .. So is anyone thinking the same as me? If the instruments work on both you will get both games..
Yes, that is true. Guitar Hero: World Tour (Which is GH4) instruments will work with RB2 and RB2 instruments will work with GH:WT. I got the RB2 disc and I'm getting the full GH:WT pack. RB2 didn't make many improvements to their instruments and the RB guitar sucks, so I'm getting GH instruments.
RB instruments will work for RB2 but I'm not sure if they'd work so good on GHWT. Cause World Tour has the slider thing. And the raised cymbals. I think they'd still work though. My friend's retarded and got the Full set of Rb2 and just the disk for GhWT.
I'm through with music based games for a long time. I'm a shooter and a driver/pilot and James Bond and sometimes I jump on XBLA, but that is it. I might try Tom Clancy's End War.
erm, im not sure how the GH:WT drum kit would work with RB2, im pretty sure in RB, there are some songs that require the bass pedal and hitting 2 drums. with the lack of a pedal, are you not hitting 3 different drums at the same time?...

Rock Band would be better, even though you can make music in GH4. Making music should be left for the musicians only, otherwise you should just stick with Rock Band 2.
I have been searching for vids on youtube showing how you can make real songs on the song mixer of GH 4 .. Do you know if you can make real songs using it?
I've always hated Guitars Hero's graphics style, and Rockband is much better than the last three GH games, but this year it looks like Guitar Hero IV is going to be the best.
When did this turn into a RB2 vs GH:WT thread? Whatever. You can't find any videos of it because it hasn't been released yet. It releases on October, 26th. It is believed that you will be able to closely tune and change the sound and style of each instrument extremely closely to any song you desire. However, there are some setbacks. First of all, there is a 1,200 note limit (per instrument) and 4 min time limit. Also, you cannot record vocals. This is so that some idiot kid doesn't make a song where the words are every cuss word he knows, and to avoid lawsuits. you can, however, set a note that the singer must sing at a certain point and they will just have to make up their own words to the right note.

I read it's 3 minutes, and ActiVision is going to strictly enforce all sorts of copyright infringement, which means no covers. That kind of blew the whole point of the thing though, with the limits and no lyrics, on top of it all, they put a copyright blanket over it. I guess I'll have to wait for Guitar Hero: Metallica or GH: Thrash Metal (if they ever make one) to hear songs I like.
