Ok, well this is what happened. in the middle of a game of halo 3, my tv screen got all fuzzy. So I shut off my 360 and turned it back on. It turned on, but it is just a black screen, but I can hear the audio. I can hear the xbox starting up noise, but it's just a blank screen. even if i turn my controller on, and scroll it up and down the xbox menu, i can hear the little ping, so i know its working, just not displaying video.

at first i thought it might be my video cord, the red white and yellow plugs, but i borrowed my neighbor's cord (which works fine), and that was not the problem. then i thought it might have been my power cord. It wasn't, because I borrowed my neighbor's, too. Then i thought it might have been the tv, but i used a different tv, and it was the same thing..

so, by process of elimination, it has to be the xbox. this happen to anyone else? is there a way to fix this, or should i send it in somewhere? if so, where should i send it in? I don't really know about this kind of stuff, so please help me out!

P.S. I have like 5 maps that are 95% finished, so please, help meh!!

Well it looks like your video cable either screwed up, or became loose. If it's not that then it's something to do with your whole entertainment system. I suggest getting a new Audio/Video cable.

Wow i had a similar problem:
I was playing with hdmi cable on my high def TV
    The same thing happened
    I bought a new cable
    It still did not work
I looked closely in the tv and the hdmi metal connection was bent
I bent it back and it worked
However in you situation it sounds like you xbox melted something internally. So you have to call 1-800-4my-xbox and go to repairs.

Well, if you figure out a fix, can you explain to me how you fixed it because the Hi-Def on my 360 went out and it's not the TV or the cords.

This happened with mine as well. It's something that went wrong inside the video card of your xbox. Not cord, card

If you haven't gotten it already, this is a sort of symptom that will lead to the RRoD. The only way to fix it is to send it in to MS.

You need to call this number: 1-800-4MY-XBOX

they will ask you some questions, but be prepared. If you have had your sexbox for over a year than they will not send you a new one. So, if you have had it for more than a year, you need to actually cause the RRoD to happen. Do this by wrapping your xbox in 2-3 towels (without your hard drive) and leave it on for 15-30 mins, until you get the RRoD. Then, after you give them your email they will send you an email with some number that you need to print out. Within the next 2-3 days they should send you some little plastic envelope type thing.

Now, you need to place the number you printed out into the envelope and stick it to a box. After that make sure everything (hard drive, discs, wireless connector, etc.) is detatched or out of your xbox, wrap it in bubble wrap, and send take it to a UPS. You will most likely get your xbox back within 7-10 business days. However, depending on how close or far away you have to send it, it could take 4-7 days, and I've heard accounts of it taking over a month.

They will explain this to you when you call them, but just in case it is someone with an accent you can't understand, That was the english version for you.

EXACT same thing happened to me.

Just send it away. Takes about a month to get back. You don't have to send away your hard drive so your maps should be fine
