    i was mean i was confused... since i asked... its ok..orangy but yeah before my map was posted... kinda an early variation but it was just like the one i use now... it was Lifts and Elevators... do a search... but also i was trying to bring back the feeling of Ivory tower ... you have to wait about 2 seconds for it to move..and it moved 3 times? so about 5 seconds to go up wasn't to bad.. right?

    That's a really well executed idea, great way to work off the basic grav-lift resurrection, and destruction triggers.
    Elevators are probably one of the biggest reasons I wish we had a "Convert to Editable Poly" and "Copy Editable Poly" options in forge.

    The 2 up elevators and 2 down ones wouldn't be so bad... you just put the up ones across the map from eachother and the down ones across the map from eachother...

    I was there when you were making this! Best elevator made to date by far... So where is the hotel you were going to build around it...

    are you meaning my hotel? because I didn't use this idea but my own... posted about a month before this one?... just wondering... I can edit this to have the link if you want..but Till then I am waiting...(against rules to post it isn't it?)

    Dude. AWSOME. i love this map, its very unique and smart. i havent seen anything like it for a very long time. thank you for posting this. kudos to you.

    I think its easier just to position mancannons properly so they fire you up.

    have you tried using pallets instead of crates? idea.

    that forging tactic he found was quite useful for this map. it should go into some forging 101

    Hey I'm not trying to one up but just yesterday me and my friend G043R found a way to make a great elevator with less objects, we will post it soon =]

    Ferret... my elevator even used less objects then yours..are you referring to the one that can be switched?. but we also came up with Switches in general... like... maybe press b to block hall way... (ps no modding need)
    press b to launch cannon! kinda opens up a new class of forge i guess... but more on it...probably later... (what if it doesn't cost grenades to activate switches...?)



    Endless possibilities...

    I just had an idea... it would be a lot cooler if you bashed a button to operate the elevator, right? You already mentioned the problem with the grav lift sucking the player against the wall, so the only real solution is to somehow extend the button in such a way that the player's bash blows up a grav lift that is out of reach of both the player themselves and the boxes that consist of the elevator floor. I think I have a way to do it:

    I can only possibly explain this via diagram.

    ::B:: = Barrel
    ::F:: = Fusion Coil
    ::G>:: = Gravity Lift

    The "---"s represent a "sleeve" that would contain the barrels, fusion coils, and gravity lifts and keep them all in a line. You could make this out of merged bridges or corner walls or whatever.

    So the idea here is to use the fusion coil to blow up the grav lift so that you don't have to use up grenades operating the lift. But punching the fusion coil would damage you, so you put the barrel in the way to push the fusion coil without hurting yourself. Then the fusion coil gets caught by the grav lift, slams into the wall, and hopefully blows up the grav lift. If you need extra firepower to blow up the lift, you can put extra fusion coils on top of the sleeve. Hopefully the resulting explosion will also push the barrel back to the far end of the sleeve, where you can push it again.

    I haven't tested this yet, so I can't be sure it works. I can see a few flaws with the idea, but I think maybe with a bit of messing around I could get it to function. Next time I get on Forge I'll test it out and see what I can come up with.

    That's pretty cool. I'd like to see a map built around the elevator. Seems like the concept behind it is really cool. I bet it's a pain to move though.

    interesting design think there is a few things you could still tweak as far a size and flow.
