EDIT: The thread for v2 is now posted!! its like seriously right here... totally This is a map I've been working on for about a week now. Supports: Slayer(no ffa)2v2/3v3 suggested, CTF, and Assault. Best with BR starts. "Enough with the abandoned buildings for now, this generator is still powered!" Amount of Interlocking; almost everything Amount of geomerging; only when necessary (ie. open boxes/ inclines on ground level) Map's Key Points - The map's centerpiece is a looming power generator with a narrow wrap-around catwalk. - There are 2 identical bases. - There is a much larger building adjacent to The Core (that is what the giant generator is referred to as.) - In the building and the bases, close-combat, whereas the open parts of the map have minimal cover to provide for epic BR battles. Weapons/ Equipment In each base; -1 br -2 frags -1 regen (90 sec. i believe) On the core's catwalk; -rockets (1 spare clip, 180 sec.) -2 plasma nades -2 frags -1 bubble (90 sec.) Inside the building; -1 sniper (1 spare clip /120 sec. i think) -2 smg (each w/ 1 spare clip, 60 sec.) -2 magnums -2 plasma nades -2 frags -1 power drain(symmetrical) 90 sec. -1 radar jammer (asymmetrical) 90 sec. Other; -1 shotgun (120 sec.) -2 plasma pistols -2 ars -some frags and plasmas Pictures ^Core view from defenders ^Core view from attackers ^Shotgun tunnel ^Rockets ^Defenders base (A) ^Attackers base (B) Look there's me! ^Building overview ^Side building entrance (same on both sides) ^Lower level of building/ the lift (drain/ jammer shown) ^The icicle sniper ^SMG on wall (upper level) one on other wall as well ^grav lift inside of each base (my only good geomerging are those bridges) ^Top of each base (sorry for not showing more, I was rushing these pics) Other Features to Note -The active camo and overshield show on The Core change color over time. The custom powerup above the building, not shown, also changes.(note below) Camo + 90sec = Purple + 90sec= White OV + 90sec = Purple + 90sec= White Custom + 90sec = Orange + 90sec= White -The grav lifts in each base are not instant respawn, but rather 10 sec. to allow disabiling it monentarily. -There is scarse cover in the open, so choose your times of movement carefully. -There are 70-something spawn points (strategically placed) to reduce the chance of spawn-rape. -The bases are small and designed as just a place to start and seldom grab weapons/ equipment, to prevent campers. -All walkways are supersmooth. -Although everything shown looks smooth, please do not look at the enclosing around the building, as you may pukw. :'( -Oh yeah, The Core sounds ueber-cool when near it, due to the shield doors and mancannons! o.0 NICE! This map looks awesome. I am immediately attracted to those building entrances and generators. You're interlocking and geomerging is very clean, and I see some really cool designs. I DL'd. Bravo!
OMG this is all one map!!!!??? This is just plain amazing i would love just to start a game on this and just look around the map and talk to friends. I love the batteries they look amazing, also the interlocking is great. I am proud to post on the first page of this map 5/5 by far
The geo-merging and the interlocking look epic! However, I am quite concerned that I can see big open spaces. Other than that, awesome looking map. 4/5
Wow, I started out a little skeptical until I saw the big building. Then my jaw dropped. It is gorgeous. I love the entrance the interior the everything. It is really unique. I also like that center core thing. The aesthetics on this map are really good. It is nice to see the glowing lights because that shows that you put a lot of time into the map. The only thing I don't like are those fence walls overlapping the normal walls around the core.. it seems too bumpy. Other than that great job. Keep up the good work
Nice map id put up some fence walls around the power-ups in the core, that way it has a more dangerous off limits feel to it, but thats just me.
wow so this map looks very neatly forged all the interlocking and geomerging looks really good. the main structure is very nicely forged too. im gonna dl this map for sure. 4.5/5
This map is incredible. This is one of the most creative and interesting maps I have ever seen. Fantastic work, I just love the interlocking and geomerging. What really makes this map stand out though is the aeshtetics. Most of your aeshtetics I have never seen before. The central structure is amazing and the building is sooo creative and fascinating. I have never seen a map like this before and I probably won't see one like this again. I hope the gameplay is as good as everything else because it seems a little too open in the center. You ar3 very talented, keep forging! This map is ****ING INCREDIBLE I can't believe it changes over time, WOW!
see that's the thing i didn't like either, they are smooth but appear rigid. That was the only way i thought of to have it go around w/o gaps and w/o using all my walls. And to Fallen Flame, that is a great thought, and I wish I'd thought of it before all the fences were used up.
This map is epic, did you use unlimited budget glitch? this map looks so jam packed full of awesomeness it looks like you would have had to.. I especially love the core, i maybe a noob to this site, but ive seen half-a-dozen core maps, not just on forgehub but just looking around this one would have to be the best.. If you can, maybe geo-merge the shotgun spawn box with the wall and the floor, but otherwise 5/5 you have my dl (not that it counts for much lol)
If you made the walls slightly higher on the core so that they were merging into the fence walls you could illimanate bumpage.
Oh ya.. Looks very nicely interlocked and geomerged.... I will download the map and check out this fabled building everyone speaks of
This is like the best map I've ever seen that isn't featured. This map is definitly feature worthy. I usually point out every tiny little detail in a map that I don't like or that could use improvement. I see a feature in your future my friend. I normally give a 4/5 for origanality. This gets a 6/5! I like the neatness and the doorways. The lifts and the design above the doorways are also impossible to make better. The little walkways around the core is a good idea and you pulled it off too! The bases look beautiful and the tunnels in the back are phenominal. Once again, 6/5. This map is perfect!
Ya, I'll admit that the large base is pretty slick but it kinda seems useless. I mean you suggested gametypes CTF and Assault which lends itself to using the bases (which do not look nearly as nice) a lot more. People would probably spend all their time running between the two bases and completely ignore that big one. There seems no point to it... For Slayer I guess it makes sense but for objectives not so much... I could see someone grabbing the sniper from the entrance but really that's about it. It's not even that much of a vantage point or choke point. It just looks good... More of an aesthetic map than a competitive one in my opinion
i like this map alot it looks big and bad a55 thr interlocking is sweet and the lack of cover some how compliments it. its not the best map i have seen but is sure comes d4m close 5/5
I totally agree with you... I think this map definitely has a big chance of a feature if just a few improvements are added (more cover, less bumps). I really look forward to playing on this map, it seems like you really put a ton of effort into this.
Yeah the reason i said that is because I (Made/am Redoing) I had fusion cores falling down shafts, I put bridges for 3 of the walls and the last wall was a fence wall, and a shield door. It looked pretty good, also if you dont have enough fence walls then you could use shield doors instead, or use fence boxes the boxes won't look as good but the would work. Another thought how did you manage to make the boxes in the central structure so neat when ive tried it certain walls are longer and some are shorter. EDIT: As for a V2 you could add the stuff i previously mentioned (Generator Walls) and maybe add some small buildings or something since the area near the generator look kinda empty.
I agree, that big building might become stagnant and unused. Maybe scrap the bases an make this a slayer map. Add some more awesome buildings! I don't know, I'll have to see if it works as is first. hmmm =/ EDIT: I should probably stop posting on this thread =P
I havent played on it yet but the maps looks awesome from the screen shots... Very open in the middle/Outside which might take it down a notch.. What ill do is download and let you know.. Awesome tho
