not by my definition. if you can drink beer or smoke a cigar(fishing) while doing it, its not a sport. or if the outcome is judged by people's opinions (thats you cheerleading).
I said, "I bet," not, "I guarantee." My common sense tells me that they're not without padding for the hours of driving they're doing. Also, MLG guys will be anything but comfortable whilst playing. They wanna be "in the zone," and that doesn't work well with dad's Laz-E-Boy. It was more a joke than anything, but I see that's intolerable.
No, jokes are fine. Its intolerable to joke about something when you make it sound so much like its one of your arguments.
Define sport. And if you watch MLG at pro level, you will see how much hard work goes in to it. Any slight interferance usually throws the players, and thus the whole team off. Teams need to be mentally and physically ready when they play. I'm not saying that it is a sport though. Is darts a sport?
I gotta say. I'm perplexed by that post. You listed valid reasons for professional gaming to be considered a sport; then, you left yourself "sitting on the fence." Storm, the contradictory beauty and flaw of debate is that it expects each party to take another's opinion/post at face value. A joke can be used effectively. Over-analytical ideals prevent debate from even maintaining its "fun factor." Please, use a bit of common sense when reading what I type.
Dented, I meant that it was intolerable because it read so much like one of your arguments, and not like a joke. The tongue smile (=P) is your friend in this case. And all cases =P (see).
