Ok. We have all witnessed this event once or twice (Or, if you are like myself, gone looking to bring it forward to justice) known as Map Theft. Quite frankly, I just don't get it. Why do you guys think people try to pull this stunt off? I mean, common, it hurts my head when i see a guy who can barely form a proper sentence, doesn't know what respwan time means, trying to pass a beautiful map off as their own. My worst was one guy tried to claim that he made the Millennium Falcon that was a bungie fav a few months back. and more so, why on this site? if a map is amazing, and has been posted before, the loyals and veterans sniff it out faster and stronger than a shark with blood in water. But what makes it even better is when the people with less than a 100 posts find and bring to justice theses events. It's impossible on this site >_> I'm at school now and my responses will be latter tonight, but i still want this thread going. What, do you guys think, are peoples reasons for trying to steal a map as their own? and do you ever fear your maps being stolen?
To answer question one: A) They are greedy. B) They are selfish. C) They don't know what they are doing is basically (comparatively that is) like stealing from a retail store... Question two: I honestly can't wait for someone to try and steal a project map...I will bring so much justice...
Well then. It appears no one has an opinion on this matter XD I guess I am the only person it bugs I shall continue my personal vendetta against the thieves.
I personally haven't seen it, but that's probably because it is caught before I can see it. I would personally be flattered if someone thought my map was so great that they would steal it from be, but it would be irritating as well.
I saw someone try claim they made distortion, maybe a week after the best of forge article on B.net. Idiot. =P It doesn't bother me, it amuses me.
i hate thieves ... because most of them have never forged a day in there life and don't realize how much time and effort went into the map there stealing. if you ask me the whole thing is really quite childish... taking pride in something you didn't make. its like meeting a step parent for the first time when your 20 and them saying they love you .
yah like bushida elite. he is still up to his usual thievings, even after his public show of all his thiefness. just look at his fileshare. one of the maps is pallet parade, with just no back area where the spartan laser is. lol. almost every map on his fileshare is stolen. trust me, i've checked.
If I'm not mistaken, Bushido Elite was banned from Xbox Live for crossing the terms of service, I think he tried to act as an employee, or something, and basically he did it to steal...again...
I think it sucks how people steak maps.. they are mostly ignorents, or they are playing cool over somthing u made.. atleast it show u made somthing great thou >.< i hope that they wuld put more effort in evolving then stealing maps.. (evolving to better forgers that is..)
It's really impossiable to steal a map and get away with it the perosn who made the map will know and probablly alot of his friends and then he will be brought justice, but i agree that if someone stole my map after the being mad i would be flattered that they thought my map was good enough.
