I use it to see if my idea will actually fit in Foundry, but Sketchup works better for full on map planning.
Let's face it, it's a pointless waste of space. How a something like this could be helpful to any decent map is beyond me. I mean a map is remembered by something about it that is unique. To try and design something unique in such a basic designer is absolutely preposterous...
I don't. I ussually try to design a map completely out of my head, Forge some things and then do the rest.
I've used it a few times but only for basic things which i dont end up making. I use it to get a rough idea of what I want. I could probably count on my fingers how many times I've used it.
As is your spam, good sir. Say why you think it's pointless. I do know some people use it. Although for more complex map design, it is not what you want to use.
Way to reiterate what I just said... How about we let this, also, pointless thread just die on it's ass...
To be honest, i really dont use it that much and as some one said, i really think it is pointless. What i usually do is either, go on forge and just use my IMAGINATION to figure something out, or When I am not on forge, just draw my thoughts about the map on a piece of paper. I think it is pointless because One-You don't have all of the objects, like grav lifts, man-cannons Two-You really cant see the geomerging and interlocking. So my favorite way is just go on forge and try to figure out something that someone already hasn't done. The is my opinion.
wow no offense but your a total douche..... i was just wondering who used maybe other people were to ?
The reason it is pointless is because you can't custom rotate and such. also, you are limited to 4 levels, so if you want something between level 1 and 2, you can't do it on there.
It's really not at all practical to use, for the various reasons stated above. I personally don't even plan the maps I make, I just improvise as I go along.
