You are one hell of a neeeenja, a lot of those jumps were insane. You totally raped Renegade. Ah well, that map was always in dire need of some improvements, maybe a V2 one day... I'd like to see you try it on Paragon though.
To be fair, Renegade was one of the trickier one to find and perform a CJ out of. I think Mental will agree with me that Shockwave was probably the hardest one to escape with a CJ, (ZOMG very late jump to Edge Ghost jump with un-crouch and complete moment transfer to just make it onto the fence box, but I made it look easy ) there were a few really tricky ones in there. Lol yes we tried Paragon and epicly failed. Alas, with it being completely enclosed and there being no vehicles to clip out with, it makes it impossible to escape. Some map designs are easier to escape-proof than others.
LoL oh yes shockwave was a B!7CH to break.... we spent a few different days in a party for at least half an hour each time untill Buddha finally got that ghost edge just perfect.... we ALMOST gave up on it. Renegade also took a day or two to find a way out that didnt involve a nade jump...and it took a while to perfect the way i did it in the video. I was very proud of myself for that one, even though it looks very simple in the video.
Paragon is all covered up, I doubt that it is possible to break. Not all maps can be broken out of, but nice job budda. I thought it was funny when you broke out of your own map, I would like to see a second video in the future.
Don't show everyone! The point of a map is to stay in it and play in it. And you couldn't escape either of the Cat N' Mouse. (Hopefully you understood that joke)
I absolutely love the music choice. Although, I think you should have waited until the 2v2 contest was over before you posted the Urban one.
^he posted yukon canyon and electric slide too. Besides its written in the rules that hlg tactics can't be used. Man i can get some ghost jumps but that was crazy i cant wait for the next vid (but u might run out of maps jk)
I think it's safe to say your game would be disqualified if you broke out of maps during the 2v2 tournament. I just wanted to make sure the vid was up to date so that I can wait a while before making the next one (Like maybe sometime next year, lol) The point isn't that I'm making these breaks accessable to everyone to use in an actual game, infact alot of those breaks are incredibly difficult to do, especially in an actual game. The point of this video, and my group, is to take on the challenge of escaping well-built maps using as few tools as possible. Heck and maybe if people pay attention enough they may just put more effort into making their maps escape-proof, which surely benefits everyone who plays on it (well, except our group of course!)
Now I know why you wouldn't accept my invites and it also solves the mystery of why you were always playing slayer on such a variety of maps. I'm glad you had fun with it man even though it depresses me a little. Not you, just the fact that Terminal and Sewers are escapable even after much heartache and headache went into making it impossible to escape, which you heartlessly disproved, lol. The video was quite good though. I enjoyed your choice of music and some of the ways you escaped were quite creative. Also some of those jumps were ridiculous. Nice job!
Hey do you think you could try to escape this map, I have tried a couple of times, but havnt made it. Your the professional, I want to see what could happen lol Here it is made by me and almost999sk8. Sanskrit
Nicely made video. Very professional and impressive. Oh and I love the choice of music. Pardon my french but a lot of those were ****ing impressive. I lol'd when you featured your own map being broken. I didnt expect to see some of the really old maps done, I assumed they'd been forgotten but it was great to see that they havent. Project Z's and Gridlocked's breakings were amusing how there were so impenetrable from atop(well Project Z at least) and yet you guys escaped from the bottom level. I was talking with Rusty Eagle today and we both assumed you'd broken an old version of Vertebraille but after a second watch I see thesilencebroken still subconciously caters to map breakers. I'd hate to play Oddball with you guys.
Glad you guys enjoyed the video. Yeah the versions of the maps I escaped are the ones that are currently linked to in the "Featured Map" forum.
Awesome job man. I never would have thought of escaping them. Especially like that! Although I have done it Empire. But for the mass of maps you did it for is amazing. The songs were really appropriate in the video too.
If 'tools required' means you used a grenade, how did you escape Reflex with nothing at all? I'm curious. And i didn't believe Aeron was escapable, although i know you can get on the top level with a simple frag jump. Edit: lucky boy.
Seeing is believing Matty, seeing is believing. Yeah if it doesn't say "Tools Required" it means we just escaped with an unaided jump or "clean jump" (CJ) as we like to call it. Yes I was the only one that knew it would be possible to get through that gap on Aeron, it is an incredibly INCREDIBLY narrow squeeze but my mad thumbpad pressing skills can get me through the tightest of gaps (did that sound dirty or is it just me?). I'm also the only one to get it so far, even after I annoyed Mental by doing it infront of im 3 times in a row, lolololol.......lol. As I've said previously, alot of these excapes aren't very realistic in an actual game, some of them are though... Alot of people are caught out by those crouch gaps, they assume that just because you can't walk through the gap that you can't squeeze past it, you just gotta tap crouch super quick! (Veterans of my puzzle maps would know this trick and despise me for it) Did you like my nifty little swoop through the tunnel on Reflex btw? EDIT: There's nothing lucky about any of it! (Well except maybe a bit of luck with Shockwave, rargh that jump!!!)
Well I really liked the song "I want to break Free" it really went well with the theme and the video itself lol Making maps that cannot be escaped is very difficult unless you make a completely sealed off cube or something like that. Cool idea and good video. Could this be a multiple part series perhaps?
Buddha, Thank you for finding the break in Gridlocked! I'm making a new version for potential matchmaking inclusion, and if that were possible the map probably would have been nixed. I'll be coming to you in the future to escape proof my maps....if it's possible. I would never have thought some of those maps were possible to escape. I need to go brush up on some of your puzzle maps.
Glad I could help out. Mental actually found that one though (To be fair I hadn't yet gotten round to that map at the time) Hopefully some people will take cues from this video and be more aware of what things people look for when trying to escape a map. Then they can take a "Proactive" approach instead of a "Reactive" one (Words of Wizdom for the day, lulz).
