This Map on Foundry showcases a number of fighting areas, such as an arena, a tower, catwalks, a garage-like area, and an open space with room for vehicles and cover. It's most prominent feature is a Ring of Fire surrounding the base of the tower, helping to isolate certain areas of the map. Best for 8-16 players. Weapon placement is a little sketchy though. Works with both slayer and team objective game-types, especially large games. Link to map: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=17371960 Screen Shots:
It sounds pretty interesting, but next time try to have the links before you post. Otherwise it might as well be spam.
Re: Ring of Fire, 7 images + video I like the concept, but maybe you should do a little work on it. A few things could have been interlocked, and also change the thread title. Your title should only be that of your map name, not "7 images and video". Keep up the forging! (Oh and read the forum rules here.) - Brute Captain
Yeah, I was having a little lot of trouble with the boxes. I've never taken the time to get things to interlock, and when they're in mid-air it's even harder. I've never been able to test it with the more then 6 people, but there's always been room for more action in the test games. A little more cover would be nice.
its a good map, i just think that some more cover would definitely make for more intense fights.maybe sum interlocking and your map will become perfect.
The budget is the only problem. Maybe getting rid of a 'Hog and the Chopper. Which Hog, and where should I put cover? And what should I use for cover? I was thinking about replacing the arena-wall boxes with hollow ones. What else? Took out the Hog and the Chopper, added some cover in the open area. I think I might need to move some of that towards the walls more to leave room for vehicles to maneuver. Replaced some solid boxes with hollow ones, and added some weapons in place of the vehicles I took out. What do you think? I'm worried that the power weapons will completely dominate the map. I also interlocked those mid-air crates that were really messy.
The link to your fileshare totally blew your post. Take pride in your work. And now about the map, I think there are too many vehicles to begin with. Also, I don't like the placement of the powerups, because they are simply too easy to get. Other than that, looks worth a shot. Good work.
It's just down to the Mongoose and Warthog on one side, and 2 ghosts on the other. Do you think I could get rid of one of the Ghosts? I'm planning on moving the power ups around. Do you have any ideas on where to put them? EDIT: I changed around the map some, especially in the open area in the back corner. Is it too cluttered to use vehicles now? I'm thinking about using some movable objects for cover, to facilitate the use of vehicles. I'm also worried about having too many weapons in one spot over there. The Gauss instead of the regular would make the area easy to clear out, to keep the game moving.
Wow I love this map. It's actually really great, but it could use some tweaks. Given those, Id say its feature'd map worthy. If you'd like some help testing it, I'm all open Thursday and Friday.
I'm open Thursday after like 6 PM Central Time. I want to get about 8-16 on it, to see how it works. I'm thinking about taking out some weapons and changing the spawn weapons to something useful, like AR and Plasma Rifle, so i can take them off the map and get some budget back. I want to use some of the space back behind the Tower. Maybe another Garage-like structure using the Shield door from the tower and the back raised area.
DOUBLE POST: Redone, with $24 left over. Moved Powerups. Start with Plasma Rifle and Assault Rifle. Set CTF points. EDIT by Furious: We don't double post around here. You obviously know where the modify button is, so use it. Another double post gets this map locked. EDIT2: I didn't realize this was that serious. I know using it to bump isn't something you do, ever, anywhere, but I was always under the impression that it was allowed for an important update even if no one had posted since. I won't do it in the future.
