Cannon Base 3s second base is totally redone, and it allows humans to truely have a fighting chance if their skilled enough while still keeping it fun and scary. Just look at the date on my fileshare._________________________________________________Cannon Base:Starting out inside a floating cross shaped base you must make a choice, run for the base across the sea and fight for your life or stay hoping to become the last man standing and thus getting score, though you'll have to stay up there that is, did I forget to mention that the base swings like crazy when hit in the right places? Download New Map Download Old Map Download Gametype Description:Unlike most zombie games where humans slaughter zombies by the thousands this game puts the sheer horror back into zombies, and without just throwing invisibility on them. This map is fun and crazy. Humans spawn up inside a floating base, hard if not impossible to defend. Your only hope it to try to stay up there while zombis from below swing their hammers slowly but surely breaking the base apart while pieces of it swing from side to side and fall down, panic is the only word that can describe this game. This can't be good... As a human you could try to run for the base on the other side of the sea, though it's a long hard road and zombies are likely to notice you and run at you at high speeds, but if you can make it you might stand a chance to fend off the zombies, at least until your ammo runs out. You could try to get out of the beach area but that's very hard, if not impossible. Yes, it really is hard to get out of the beach, I only know one way to get out and I doubt you'll be able to find it, or pull it off in a game. Zombies can jump high and run super fast, they can also take a lot of hits but trust me when I say their not un killable, they can be killed, it just takes teamwork. New Pictures from Cannon Base 3: The base can get really messed up. But that just makes it more fun. "I like your colors...." -Gigith (Then I die a second later) All partys must come to an end sooner or later. Don't bring morons to the Second Base.. I get pwned from behind. ..... Why me. Note: Don't comment if all you have to say is it's to hard to kill zombies, it's meant to be hard! That's why it's so fun and scary. Just get a bunch of people in a game and stay in the floating base, tell me if you like it then. And trying to get your fellow humans killed is perfectly fine, not like there's all that much you can do though. But I still try, if I did try that is, which I don't.. I meant to make them glow, it makes them look like it's the core and the rockets and such, well, it looks like it to me. I got the IDEA from a map I played, don't know which map it was, It was just thrown together though with only one zombie spawn point, also in a straight line and the humans would pwn the zombies. Didn't think the maker of it, whoever it was, would really go anywhere with it from there so I made my own version. I made Cannon Base 2 on November 28th 2007, made the first version on like the 27th or something while The Swings was posted on here on December 1st 2007.
Re: Cannon Base 2 Well, the concept seems pretty similar to The Swings, but the post is good, and I can't stand to see something go off the front page without a single comment. I'll DL (since I haven't tried the swings) just to see what it's about. Hope I enjoy it.
Re: Cannon Base 2 Nice job on the post, and the map. I think if you put the effort in you could easily straighten those crates to make the map look a bit more nice and neat. Other than that, good job on using a map other than Foundry.
Re: Cannon Base 2 I had never heard of the swings, I'll admit to getting the idea from another map but it wasn't the swings. And as for them not being straight it really is close to impossible to get them to spawn straight, really, it is. The issue isn't getting them to be straight it's getting them to spawn like that, by moving them just a little they would spawn in horrible ways, I had to settle with this, though it's not half bad if I do say so myself. Though if you could get them looking better somehow I'd really like that, but I wasted 2+ hours trying and they'd always mess up HORRIBLY when they'd spawn. I got lucky with the final product. Though I made this map before the map pack, heh, took me over 1 month to even get the map pack because my 360 red ringged a week before it came out, atleast I was able to finish this map around the time it died on me. Edit: Oh wait, do you mean the CRATES on the other base? Hhmmm... They don't seem to be out of order, but now that I look at the whole second base it looks like total ****, I think I'll update this map, though I'll try to do it tomorrow, it's like 1AM.
Re: Cannon Base 2 Nice work on the build overall. I haven't had a chance to actually play, but it looks like (from the screenshots) you've had some fun on it. That's good enough for me. Maybe somebody who likes infection games more than me should check this out.
Re: Cannon Base 2 This does seem very simliar to the swings. Perhaps you could add something to make this seem less like cottages and more like your own idea/map.
Re: Cannon Base 2 I would make it less like The Swings but mine came first and it really isn't much like The Swings, other than the basic idea of it. I didn't rip off The Swings because I made mine first, he didn't rip off mine because he came up with the idea by himself, I would assume. I won't sit here and say that I came up with the idea, I didn't, I saw another map that I thought didn't do the idea justice, so I made my own version, many Guilders here have dome the same. I'll be adding in a V3 soon, finished the second base and I've play tested it with 3 16 player games, they all loved it. Hope you like my map, just need to finish with the pics and updating my first post and it'll be ready for download.
I'm going to go get some pictures from my 4 playtests and post them here. Just wanted to let everyone know how gameplay feels in my map. Thing about Cannon Base is you laugh alot, like when someone falls you just can't help but laugh, well, I can't. Edit: I've updated my first post with the new pictures.
V3 looks great, I like the base also. Its built very well. I didnt notice that this actually came out before The Swings. Nice job!

What was it called? Because if that map is The Swings than keep in mind Cannon Base came first. Yeah, like with dodge ball, storm the beach etc etc , sometimes you just need to make your own, one better than the rest to truly do the original idea justice. That's what I did here, I saw an idea coined by a map which was NOT the swings, one that was poorly done and likely wouldn't be improved upon in time so I used the idea to make my own. Lets think about this for a minute, what would this map be like if it didn't come out before The Swings? If The Swings did come first this map would still have a place on these forums because It improves on elements of The Swings. The Swings is small, you get stuck in a box and hope you don't fall out, in the end it's very simple, yet fun. Cannon Base on the other side puts you with all other humans at the start and gives choices. Pick the most stable container you can find and stay in it, and if that box messes up try to get to a safer one, just pray you can make it Jump out, possibly with some friends and run for the Second Base, you may not live as long as someone in the Cannon Base but you'll get score without having to be the last man standing It's those things that make Cannon Base different, and I'd like to think BETTER than The Swings. So my point is that if you've played The Swings much at all you'll be happy to know that there's more to the whole "up inside a container trying to survive" style of gameplay.
