Ill post a link when I have a chance. *** Don't count this out until you read the description. I know how much people hate the noob combo and how often noob combo games have been done before. This one is different, I assure you. Map Variant:Noob Arena Game Variant:Team Noob Remember the good ol' noob combo? In this game, you play 1 half the noob-combo, while your teammates play the other half. Essentially, each team spawns with heavy overshields and plasma pistols, but each has 2 powerups that will allow them to pick up battle rifles. Those without powerups should jump down into the arena to begin charge-shotting their enemies. Here's an overview of how the game plays: -Those with custom powerups are essentially invincible (for the 90 second span), but only do significant damage if they headshot a shield-less opponent with the BR. Also, they cannot leave the elevated spawn area until their powerup runs out. -Those without the powerups are both fodder and powerhouses. They must use their plasma pistols to bring down their enemies' shields. -Assassinations and beatdowns don't give you any points, so only use them in an emergency. -Non-powered up players have 100% shield vampirism. Get tagged? Tag somebody else quick before you get shot in the head. -The only really effective way to get points is to have your pistol-men take down the enemy pistol-men's shields and then have your rifle-men ready to dole out headshots. -If your powerup runs out, you can go into the arena with your BR. But people will be trying to murder you, and you'll rob your team of an elevated rifleman (60 second respawn on the BR after you die). -3 minutes into the round, each team gets a plasma grenade in their spawn area. You can only grab it if you have a powerup. Save it for the end, though. You can only kill somebody with it when their shields are down, and it only counts as a stick if you use it without a powerup on (for some reason). If you manage to make this stick work, though, it's worth 10 extra points. Good luck. This gametype/map actually has a fair amount of depth. Should you have 2 players on BR duty, or just 1? Punch your de-shielded enemy to remove the threat, or wait for your BR man to take him out for a point? Do you take your rifle into the arena to do some close up point-farming, or do you play it safe and grab another powerup? And of course, can you make the 10 point stick? The rounds last 5 minutes, and the game works best with 6 or more players. Screenshots: Noob Arena This is the Noob Arena. Pretty simple layout. Re: Noob Combo Arena Good call. Fixed. And I've always liked noob combo games for a little bit of random fun. But this map plays completely differently, and isn't your standard noob-combo game. You have to work as a team if you want any points. We should try this out next time we're online together. Assuming we can get more people together than I've tried it with. EDIT: I just tested this a little more (4 v 4) and it actually works pretty well... as long as everybody knows what's going on. Just make sure to explain to everyone and you can have a lot of fun. It does require communication, though. Also, I got the 10 point grenade stick in my very first open game... I was so happy, lol.

But it better be fun, or I'm going to bury the noob combo and never look back. Stupid noob combo. EDIT: "Team Noob" lol. Kinda reminds me of that line from Super Troopers.
Re: Co-op Noob Combo Arena A true noob combo arena map would be primary weapon plasma pistol, secondary battle rifle. Brings back some of those Halo 2 memories. Anyway, this looks fun, I'll be sure to give it a try. Nice work.
Re: Co-op Noob Combo Arena Shadowsnipe, the map is a team noob game. It is all about part of the team plasma pistoling while the other takes them down with the BR when they are blinking.

I tried to make sure everything looked straight and moderately professional. Try the gametype, though. It's about teamwork, and plays differently than "the noob combo." szafranko: No you're not. Everybody spawns with the plasma pistol, and you just have to go pick up the BR if the BR man dies. Plus, the powerup that allows you to pick up BR's makes you essentially invincible. Try it out if you haven't yet.
Re: Co-op Noob Combo Arena It does indeed make sense. It looks like the people with powerups can head jump out of the starting area... anyone have an idea of a way to fix this? Or should I just not worry about it (since they will immediately get assassinated on the floor)? EDIT: Hehe, this map has, by far, my worst view:download ratio. Guess you guys aren't interested in new things. Whatev. (jokes)

Re: Co-op Noob Combo Arena Lol... well, he obviously didn't DL the map/gametype combo. You can't duel wield plasma pistols, since there aren't any on the map, and people can only die in the arena. People with weapon pickup also have high gravity, and can't get onto the arena. This isn't just another noob combo map. It's a teamwork arena map.
