Okay so I just got home today and I walk up to my brother playing Halo, and he tells me that he got perma-banned and I have a 3 month ban from matchmaking. However, we do not know why this happened. I know that he use to have his own accounts boosted but I have not done anything wrong that could get me a ban. Is there anyway I can find out how/why I was banned?
sorry man, but he was being sarcastic, sadly since you share the same IP address you will be banned along with him, for all Bungie knows, you could be the same person as your brother. I'm not saying I don't believe you, I'm saying Bungie has to be strict. The best thing to do is find some good single-player games for three months... Sorry I can't offer better advice than that.
sorry buddy, you gotta not play halo3 for 3 months. but wait you said perma or 3 month, which one is it?
I recommend that you ban your brother from playing on your account, effective immediately, for an extended period of time. If I was him I'd be paying you one quarter of your LIVE subscription fee as a refund at the very least. Kids gotta take responsibility.
I was going to say something like that, but you beat me. Anyways, help me out, what is boosting? I've heard of it, but I do not actually know what happens.
Boosting can be done by having your friends, who might be better than you, to carry you in MatchMaking say in Slayer or any other playlist. Unfortunately i think the IP ban is the cause for ChI SoX FaN 3 month ban there is not a lot you can do about it.
Either that, or some guy broke into my house and played on my account for a couple hours and left without stealing anything.
Just do what I now do ever since my brother started playing on my account whenever I wasn't home. SET A PASSWORD! and yeah do that thing shock said about him paying you back
The problem was never that my brother played on my account. He had his own account(s). And he was the halo "player" who would make new accounts for a one month and within the first day, he was already a 50. So I think that might have a lot to do with it. And I'm almost positive that it is an IP ban. I guess I won't be able to do doubles anymore =/
Did you have any modded or pornographic content on your fileshare? If so that might be part of it. Also, it might have to do with other illegal activities such as lag switch or something that happened. It is probably just that Bungie messed up.
I suggest you make 1 months and reset your IP. Then you can play Halo on a 1 month and not worry about getting banned again.
Yea, changing your IP address is simple. I think one of my friends got his IP banned and his account. Although I believe he changed his GT name with MS points and changed his IP and was able to log back in with that account. Not sure though, don't take my word for it.
