Download Rift Description: Rift is a Covenant creation discovered recently. It is a large multi leveled structure hovering over a giant chasm. Human scientists have uncovered what uses it held. This cold cavern was a proving ground for advancing Elites. The Elite would be locked inside with 3 Brutes that had all been sentenced to death for varying crimes against their god. The chamber holds this multi purpose by training their bravest Elites and following through with the finality of a heretic Brute's death sentence. This map is made for 2-8 players. While the interior of the cave may seem small, the map makes up for it in vertical space. I love the lighting possibilities inside this room. Objects will shift from green to blue to deep black depending on where you place them. Combined with the bright yellow energy blockers and flickering green teleporters, this map is the most vibrant visually that I've made. Most of the usable space is taken up all the way down to the death barrier. On the bottom level there is a circular platform. If you stand on the bottom of the platform you are fine, but crouch down and the guardians will take you. That is the lowest point in the map. There are three distinct floors and on each floor there are secondary raised platforms. This makes for many different combinations of combat from different heights. The bottom level also houses a darkened corner where the Beam Rifle spawns. I had to use man cannons to light up the area because it was pitch black when I started working in there. The main structure on the bottom level is the home of the Fuel Rod spawn, which is sloped up into a semi-shielded area with a teleporter on either side. Both teleporters lead to the top level bridge that goes along to the sword spawn. The third way back up from the bottom is a grav lift located on a half raised watchtower base directly below the lower main lift. The main level is home to the Energy Blocker/Teleporter stairs and a large ramp structure elevated above the main floor. The teleporter on that structure also leads to the top level bridge. The corners of the main level include the watchtower base sniper spawn, another Energy Blocker stairwell, a BR glass enclosure, and a ramp up to the floating double watchtower bridge. Important: Make sure you turn off suicide penalties both on points and spawn time. It can get annoying if you fall off a couple of times. Ive always liked maps that were made in avalanche's cave, it seems so fum! Good Job this should of took you a while due to the save and quit method. Your time payed off.
This map is INSANE! I've seen something similar (I think by Matty) but this one is even better! The fifth to last interlocking caught my eye, the way you interlocked the base into the double boxes! That looks sweet!. If you really want to go overboard, interlock the base of the shield doors so they don't show for a cleaner look. 4.9/5. JUST INSANE!
hollyyy **** haha good job bud, this map looks unreal, it looks like an altertered version of interrobang, which means FEEATTUURREEE haha but really its sick and innovative, looks like clean, smooth interlocking and even weapon placement, nice!
It looks great but there is one problem. The double boxes arn't interlocked and that makes it less smooth and bad for grenades. My favorite part about it though is the bridges that are in a circle. 89/100
Nice to see another map on Avalanche. The scenery looks so much cleaner and more interesting... Excellent aestletic touches to the map. Specially with the mancannons. It looks really cool. My only suggestion would be to interlock the platforms because the bump in way bigger and annoying on Avalnche than it is Foundry other. Other than that their is really nothing to improve because it looks good enough allready! For now 4/5 but if you interlock those boxes it will bea 5/5 easy!
Looks awesome man i like it There. isn't many maps on Avalanche that are really good and this one is 5/5. I like the weapon spawn. Keep up the good work!!!!
Yes, Interlock the shield doors to make them look nice and neat, Like the ones on Snowbound. Yes, Also interlock the double box's for a smooth walk, Know what I mean? The map is pretty cool, Has multiple levels and the floating abojects are straight. BTW, Why is there a sniper rifle on a weapon holder, I'd let lean against something or just place it on the ground. I will download and come back with a better review later. EDIT: The map was not what I had expected =[ (Sad face) The boxes were not alligned with each other and it was a little bit different from the pictures, Game play was ok, its a 3.8/5, Sorry but I think you should make a V2.
this looks SO good the game play would be well good the door part reminded me of a shark in the water lol
This map has an amazing aesthetic look and everything is well placed.I do reccomend if you make a V2 to make the double boxes interlocked.
A LOT of pics. 5/5 and a DL. I think the sundial, weapon placement and sniper posistion is good. But This is a little too open. But it is still okay!
This map reminds me that good maps don't need to be on Foundry. I love the platforms that make perfect steps to the upper level. Nice job. Keep Forging!
this looks really cool. my favourite parts are the bridges in a perfect circle and the mancannons used as lights. looks like it would be fun to play slayer on because of all the jumping involved.
Interesting map but i think instead of teleporters that you should make stairs that connects everyting like one big catwalk.
