    Haven Version 2

    Map Story:
    This area on Onyx was used for SPARTAN III exercises. It is believed to be Forerunner ruins.

    Map Description:
    A symmetrical canyon type map, both hills dip in, separate bunkers, bridge across the middle. All gametypes work.

    The Aim:
    To create a map that played like Standoff/The Pit. Where it's completely balanced, fun to play on any gametype, and it's constant action (without spawn kills..)

    Battle Rifle x6
    Sniper Rifle x2 (180 Respawn, 0 Spare Clips)

    Plasma Pistol x2

    Spike Grenade x12

    Subtle changes, that make the difference you guys wanted:
    Spikers at bottom replaced for SMGs
    Spartan Laser exchanged for Rocket Launcher
    Hammers swapped for Spikers
    Plasma Grenades switched for Spike Grenades
    Sentinel Beams removed
    Active Camo raised from 120 to 180 respawn
    Spawn Points moved/edited (Spawn killing is minimized)

    FAQ's:

    How long did this take you to make?
    In amount of hours, I can't really say, because I lost track very quickly, but it was about 2 months.

    This seems sorta like Bunker Hill, that where you got the idea from?
    Gonna be honest with you, I've never actually got round to playing that map, even though it obviously is amazing, but I actually got the idea from reading the halo book Contact Harvest, the battlefield wasn't described in this sorta way at all, I just happened to picture it in my head like that and then just worked from there to create a map.

    I'm not so sure about your weapon placement, plus shouldn't there be more cover?
    I did do several play tests with other people, I made a lot of adjustments, removed some weapons, added more, and I felt there was enough cover. Plus you have active camo's. I felt it played as best as it was going too.

    How the heck did you pull off some of that geo-merging!?
    I worked like a dog! Plus, I worked out some new forging techniques that made that part easier and more accurate.

    Are you going to release an MLG version of this map?
    Yeah I'll get to that, I'm not much of an MLG player myself but I'm aware many others are. I'll also make a Rocket Race version.

    Do you actually design your maps first? Or do you just start building from whatever ideas pop into your head?
    I design every map first, every map you see from me had a original sketch design. Haven Design. As you can see, a fair amount changed, some I changed because I was running outta stuff, and other things I just changed because it seemed to play better that way.

    Is this map escapable?
    It freekin better not be lol. I pretty much guarantee that you won't be able to escape it in player mode. Feel free to challenge me on that.

    Why is there a Version 2?
    Many people disagreed with the original weapon/spawn layouts, so this was tweaked and edited more and more until it seemed more balanced.

    Do you plan on making more maps?
    My next is making progress right now, it's on Avalanche in fact, but hey don't panic.. I know what I'm doing..

    WOW.

    This looks amazing!

    I can see no Interlocking flaws, and everything looks smooth and well put together.
    Personnally, my favorite parts are the bunkers jutting out of the Hill's/canyons.

    My only concern is that there seem to be an abundance of power weapons.
    2 grav hammers, 1 Spartan Laser, 2 sentinel Beams, 2 Active Camos, and an Overshield? It seems a little much.

    Other than that though, the map looks fantastic.

    wow, that is an amazing map. your interlocking is amazing, and the bases are extremely well made. one thing i would add is more cover. it looks too open to be playable with brs, but two big for ars. otherwise, its a great map

    EDIT: i just thought of something. secret tunnels behind the wall would be an awesome touch. think about it for a version 2

    Hrm.... a map that is similar to Bunker Hill but there are two hills......? Yes... this does look interesting... if not wowz. This is something I definately need to look out for later... it is just like so different from what I've been used to seeing lately.

    This map looks really good, The interlocking on that huge slope is near perfect.
    I myself have tried to do something along those lines, but compared to you,
    I failed epically.

    One thing i like about this map is the time put into it, Even though you havent directly come out and told us, i can tell you spent some quality time, Especially seeing as how you geo-merged fence walls on the under part to the perfect angle. That alone is very hard.

    This also makes your map stand out, there alwasy used to be this really good map, and players would eather start at the top or the bottom of the hill, bit you took this idea and made it work for everyone by money glitching the map and allowing the ability to make two FULL hills with cover and bases provided for each one of them.

    One thing i'm not too sure about is where the bases are, I can "see" them, but another POV for the camera would be nice, the more pictures you have, the better you can make your map look, and by doing that you can provide yourself with an even better chance of having more downloads,

    Basically, this map looks and seems great, now i think you need to get just a few more pictures to show that to everyone who isn't going to download it and do a forgethrough.

    Wow, very well done and I really can't find anything wrong with it, I'm not really a fan of pallet bridges but I think you made it work pretty well, and I love the hill idea. 5/5 Good job!!!

    Dang man, that's an impressive amount of interlocking and it looks like a damn fun map to play, 5/5 ive never seen anything like it, game play looks balanced the map looks awesome.

    Very original i have seen maps on a slope but this takes it to a new level. as for the standoff pitt thing i would say this seems more like standoff than the pitt in the fact that the combat will be fairly long ranged except for in the bases. one thing im not sure about is the mongoose on a sheild door (seems useless) and you could have put some more small structures for cover like those rocks on standoff. other than that very well thought out and forged. ill definately dl for at least or forgethrough (prolly some games) Keep on forgin

    Hah, as normal a beautiful map by Picceta. You did an excellent job with your interlocking, but why are the side walkways....dull? I dunno, you could have done more with them, it just seems so plain. perhaps add some creative cover....I'm a HUGE fan of Sereny, so thism amp looks very appealing. 4.8/5 because something is missing.

    This just looks absolutelys astounding; flawless interlocking, geo-glitching, and from the looks of it rounded gameplay/tactics.
    I really like how its mainly sloped, you don't see much like that-good job!

    good job, this is amazing, i like the bridge in the middle. + rep for you. You also should think about making more maps like these. It looks very even and neat. 5/5 keep forging.

    very nice map i always love maps that are greatly interlocked and geomerged. looks quite balanced and game play looks kind of open but still great. i give you a 4.5/5 due to the fact that i am not quite sure how the game play will be untill i have actually played it mainly because i think it is kind of open. do the little slits in the hill go to other slits like with tunnels or no if not that would make the map even more amazing

    This looks amazing, I've seen a couple hilly bunker type maps, but this is by far the best. Everything looks original and perfect really. Only thing i can see wrong in the pictures is that you could probably get on the ledge around the roof of foundry and walk around to the other side. This may be blocked but ill dled and get back to write a more through review.

    Edit I downloaded and loved it. The Top ledges are blocked, and it has some amazing gameplay. I particulary liked the indented caves/bunker things, not the main bunkers but the ones halfwaydown the cliff, really made it feel like i was in the mountain. The only thing i didn't like was the chain box sides of the bunkers and the large shield door right there.

    Oh no, I just had to pick a wonderful map to look at. I'm tired, but there's no way I could resist commenting on such a beautiful map. This is cerealously one of the coolest maps I have ever seen. The design is just so freakin' incredible! I am so awestruck by this map that I really can't think of too much to say about it. GREAT interlocking + geomerging! This is an extremely original idea. The hill usage is phenomenal. The bases look incredibly neat and very cool. Overall everything looks perfectly smooth and flawless. To be repetitive, this map is sweet x awesome to the power of 10. Unique, creative, genius, smooth, perfect, awesome, incredible... those are just some words to describe this map. Seeing as I just can't seem to put my feelings into word, I shall end by saying, Outstanding job!!!

    This is an absolutely amazing map there is no flaws and it is beautifully interlocked. This has featured/Bungie favorites written all over it. MAKE MORE MAPS!!!!!!

    I totally agree, this map is the greatest thing I have ever seen. I would never be able to attempt something so ambitious and actually pull it off.

    I like the angled walking surfaces, I've seen it been done before, but this is probably the first time I've seen it done well.

    Woot, another map by Picetta! Aren't you dead?

    Anywho, it's maps like these when I wonder when the map creator isn't Premium already.

    The strongest point that I see in this map is obviously the hills. Ever since Bunker Hill, I've been expecting someone to remake it with another hill for asymmetrical play.

    An interesting thing could have been that in asymmetrical games, one of the hills doesn't appear, and the hill that's left is the defending hill.
