Yeah, it's definitely cramped. I still want to get a 12+ player game together on it, though. Stupid fun.
It's nice to see a map that's actually up to FH standards AND looks fun to play. Good Job! *Queued* :squirrel_chatting:
Lol, not sure how you can tell it's up to FH standards by just looking at the pics, but glad you think it looks good. And yes, it does look like a big tower from the outside. You can see it if you get spawned in the right cage. Enjoy your crazy, small-scale, 3rd-D battles.
Look like a good odball map. Nice job on the interlocking as well. I'm not sure I like the interlocked teleporters though. "Some things were not meant to be interlocked." Good work though.
I don't like to look at the interlocked teleporters much either. But it was the only way I could have 16 private spawns with random porting. My suggestion: don't die. You'll only have to see them once a game that way, lol. This is great for oddball, though. I love running circles (spheres?) around people who haven't played it before.
You still never changed this. Oh well. I finally played a game here and I loved it. Then again, I did win the 1v1 game like 15-4 pr something. I've never had so many sticks! Is this set up for Oddball? That does sound like fun except the ball carrier could just camp in one of the shield door rooms and beat down anyone trying to get in. Sure, an enemy could get lucky and teleport in behind them, but it's unlikely.
I played on this and this map is great! Never saw too much of the mid- or bottom levels though. Gonna go check this out again now. This time in forge so I won't get stuck so much.
Oh, I'm going to be a downer and say I reall hate close quarters fights, but I'm in the minority on this. This is so well put together, and the mechanics are flawless, so I'm sure most people would have a really good time here.
Furious, I'm working on version 2, to release soon. Maybe after I get a game together with you and the boys, so I can see what really works/doesn't. And of course it works for oddball. All my maps work for all gametypes (except the dodgeball and noob combo ones... that wouldn't make any sense). The plasmas have moved, and I changed a few minor things around that nobody will probably notice. But I have a bunch of 12 year old kids on my friends list just for the purpose of breaking maps - those buggers are persistent - and fixing the flaws. Everyone else: thanks for the kind words. I look forward to playing you on the map sometime.
I had a few plays on this and it was pretty fun, but after playing it I maintain my dislike of the shield doors (and promptly deleted them) and discovered that the shotguns in a row together didn't make any sense to me. Something I did first time (and again several times in other games) was chuck a grenade behind the shotguns and catch one as it was thrown across the map by the fusion cores! Nice trick
Version 2.0 is coming soon. Plasmas have been moved, grenades will be toned down, and shield doors will, in all likelihood, be gone. They really do ruin oddball.
Looks amazing and I bet it will play just as good. Reminds me of that structure in Banjo Kazooie with all the ants.
Yeah... Banjo Kazooie... that was exactly what I was going for... As long as he enjoys it, right? Also, version 2.0 coming as soon as people help me do a final playtest... anybody got my back? Add me and I'll be on tonight (Feb 07).
