I have never really posted in this section, but i hope this question fits. I've been working on one of my maps, Hone Your Jump 2, and throughout the entire phase, one area will not remain interlocked. Basically, I have 2 double boxes merged perfectly with each other for aesthetics. On top of these double boxes (floating crouch height above) I have another pair interlocked above (perfectly). Once i save the game, exit, and begin a new game, they are completely messy and they have tilted. Although interlocked, it fails miserably (and prevents you from doing the obstacle). I do not know how easy that is to understand, but please comment if you have any ideas as to why this is happening. Btw, I have tried forging in a local connection, and this still happens. Thanks = ). EDIT: Send me a message if you think you could help (or you would like a visual). My Friend list is probably full.
Hmm, this is very odd. I have never heard of such a thing. You will have to show me, message me. I hope your problem gets fixed.
Are you using something to hold them in place when you interlock them? If so, try adjusting your grip on the item so that you don't hear the banging noise. Once it's resting calmly in place (with no noise), try saving again and starting a new game. If this doesn't solve your problem, then it would appear that you're encountering a bug that's been baffling me for some time. If you're not already, try forging the interlock on a local room instead of an open party on XBox Live. You may also be the victim of miscommunication/lag between your box and the Bungie host server, which would eternally throw off your interlock. In either case, I wish you luck in solving it.
Thanks, I'll probably try doing this over and over (after several prior attempts) in local to get the interlocks to remain. Although i have a low status, I'm not a new forger, just to let people know it is probably connection problems or an odd bug (rather than something like not allowing an item to stabilize).
He already said he tried forging in local, read the entire post. This happeened to me once, I have no idea how it happened, but I just redid what got messed up and it was fixed. Does it constantly do this to you?
This has happened many times to me. Try setting all the objects on your map to spawn at start and the run time min to 0. Also, Jpec had a good point. Somtimes the "bump" geometry of each object is rammed into another object and they decide to break away from each other to hold this "bump" boundry
Not sure if I completely understand this but, I'll try to help. If you want them crouch height above the other boxes try placing 2 walls stacked up on eachother and rest the higher boxes on that. So You made yourself a floor. Then interlock them together, this should help keep the boxes in the same spot. (While your in the pause menu the games still running and the boxes will keep adjusting). If this doesn't work then just try it over and over again. Decrease lag as much as possible by going local and not having any guests. Hope I helped
Thanks. I've retried at least 8 times in local and several online and it still is messed up. For some reason, after perfectly intersecting and positioning the boxes, they just become slightly tilted in new games. I've made the obstacle possible, but it is just not as aesthetically pleasing as i would have liked. I believe this "bug" is a glitch on Foundry, so it is near impossible to fix (although i have a few ideas up my sleeve). This is occurring on the ground near the (main) crane. Oh, and JPEC, i believe we are encountering the same problem.
