After the utter un-success of my last map pack, I realized you people here on Forge hub require greater standards than that. Those maps were slightly thrown together (but IMAHO worked great), and lacked much detail. These new maps are pieced together so that they work exactly how I want them to, and (looks at COSTROPHOBIA) are detailed enough. I hope you enjoy these maps more than the last ones.

    RETRIBUTION - DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=17222153
Retribution is a map that can easily be set up for all game types. There are areas that are primarily oriented towards Slayer, other areas for Objectives, and no places to camp. Every area can be countered with a well placed grenade, and some without even being close to your foe. It's symmetrical in every way. There is also an alleyway connecting the two. Upon looking back on it now, I don't see why I didn't connect them by double boxes instead of teleporters, but it works all the same.

NOTE: The shield doors are not for hiding behind ( though possible as a last minute defense! ). They are for easy maneuvering when piloting a ghost.

NOTE: I didn't focus on detail on this map as much as I did gameplay. Everything on this map works exactly how I want it to (except for minor problems with the deployable cover). This map was made before I heard of the infinite budget glitch, so the budget was already maxed out. So people.

    Pictures:

View from central turrets. Theres a 2-Way node at the end of the line, which takes you up to where this screen-shot was taken.

Taken from D.P. Spawn. Shows Central turrets, Ghost spawn (below former), and parts of the two 'bases'.

Taken from ghost spawn. Shows sword spawn, and not much else.

Shows a larger look at one of the bases. Each has a Sniper tower, a turret, and bunker.

Same as before, but the other side.

    COSTROPHOBIA V2- DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=17223015

    COSTROPHOBIA SUMMARY:
A very close quarters map, set up for all game types. ( Slayer and Infection recommended, see version 2 for objectives. ) Oriented towards close quarters, this map is very easy to turn tides upon in Team Slayer maps, with the abundance of weapons, locations, and use of the central turret. It is advised you always keep a close range weapon with you, and helps if you keep a mid-range weapon close. Objective games are possible, but not recommended. Best game types are Slayer ( all variants ), Juggernaut, and Infection.

    COSTROPHOBIA V2 SUMMARY:
Almost the same as COSTROPHOBIA, but with a removed wall, a removing of a sniper (bottom) and power drainer, and the addition of a spartan laser and a turret tower for each team. Wall removed to maker easier sights for team based games (close-quarters is just scary :D), Power Drainer removed for outright annoyance, Sniper removed for aesthetic value ( can't have a splaser and a sniper next to eachother! ), and Spartan Laser added for those pesky turrets. Turrets added to: protect ur base frum ppl killin ur doodz.

Yea, I did have to type that. I lost a bet.

    Pictures:

Shows view from central turret. The area shown here is generally more open, but close range weapons would still work best.
    (Regular Costrophobia)

Shows Close-range area. The turret area is cut off, but 2 spike grenades and a sniper spawn up there. In the center (back), there is a hole to drop down and snag a rocket launcher if you chaser is dumb enough to chase you down there. Pallets are on instant respawn, so if someone shoots you from below (unless with a rocket), you won't be hurt, or even fall!
    (No difference)

One side of the map. The other is identical (give or take some details), and it was late, so I only took a shot of one one side. Not that big a deal.
    (Costrophobia V2)

A view of one bases turret.

NOTE: THE VEHICLES FOUND ON THE MAP CANNOT BE ACCESSED. THEY ARE THERE PURELY FOR AESTHETIC VALUE!

I started working on a reconstruction of my home, but soon realized I would quickly run out of Walls, so I ended up making a new map (and a happy third to the redemption pack!). No, this is not my actual house, as I do not own tele-porters connecting my improvised top floor to my improvised back porch. That would be pretty sweet, though.

Recommended for Slayer, Juggernaut, Infection, and one sided objectives. Set up for all game-types, though.

NOTE: Due to errors with spawns, I have not had a chance to thoroughly test this map for all game-types (with 10+ people.). If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to contact me and fill me in. I'll be happy to fix it.

    Pictures:

Main area, based off my kitchen. The counter is good for hiding against the turret. You can also jump to the basement level between the two A signs.

A different view of the same area. Behind the kitchen is the laundry room, and you get a better picture of the Kitchen/Basement opening.

A third view of the kitchen area, this time showing behind the stairs and the ramp to the basement.

The Top floor. The teleporter leads to the "outside area" (where it would be on my house). The B signs just lead the the Family room/Back porch cross.

A look at the Laundry room. You can see the Porch (left) and the Backyard hill (stairs).

A look at the porch. You can see into the kitchen from here, and maybe pick off a foe manning the turret with the sniper?

The backyard. The teleporter is located under the porch (just like in real life!), and the rest of the area is just spread out into the basement.

Different angle of under the Backyard. The above floor is the Porch. The backyard leads into the basement.

A view from the basement turret. Behind the turret are crates that lead to the Family Room/Porch cross. Ahead is the actual basement. To the left (can't see in the picture, sorry) is the backyard.

(Finally) The basement. Obtains the Rocket Launcher. To the right (the area next to the right single box) is a pair of barricades that form a makeshift staircase to the laundry room.

Wow man, you improved quite a bit.
These maps look a lot better than the last ones you posted.

Good job on fixing up your post and making it look really nice too.

RESPONSE THREAD - RESPONSE THREAD - RESPONSE THREAD - RESPONSE THREAD - RESPONSE THREAD

Titmar: Thanks for the positive feedback man. I've actually been working on posting this for about a week, as I've been going to the gym lately and could only get a few things done at a time :p. I actually took all day (since 3) to type this because I've been dozing on and off.

alcapone900: Yeah, if I want to apply for a guilder, I have to make at least one custom map on a basic map other than Foundry, right? Well, after my next map pack (experimenting with interlocking & infinite budget), I'm going to dedicate a map pack to other maps. I'm going to make a map on every map except Foundry and shove it all into one Topic. It'll be great :D

    Lance001:
RETRIBUTION was my project right after Apocolyptic (see file share, I aint liking to it here), so it was probably based of it a little. To me, it's easier to have a square map because it just works for me, I can't explain it.
COSTROPHOBIA was just a side project that started with making a hole to crawl under for quick escapes. I showed my lil' bro and he thought that would be cool in an actual map, so I thought "Sure, I could do that." And about 3 days later, it was born :p.
Traub was something I wanted to do for a long time, but never knew how to start. I decided to wing it and it turned out almost exactly how I wanted it to. The Flag spawns are a little off, but it's alright, it's still playable.

I agree though, Traub is the best of the bunch. I'm going to try and make more like it.

ShadowSnip3r RC: The first map was designed with a few ideas - one of those was to make every area dangerous. The amount of turrets mean you must watch your back everywhere you go, but there is still plenty of cover to hide behind. The whole turret deal isn't an obsession so long as it helps game play : ).

    TurboGerbil:
    1. I had a misunderstanding with the subject of the message - I thought I had to name it 'Post your maps here!' for it to be able to show up in that topic. Still, though, thinking back on it - it seems extremely foolish of me :p.
2, You're not coming across as mean at all! I asked for advice, and you gave me advice. I don't care how it looks as long as you get your point across.
Thanks for helping, I'll re-upload it later today.

opothehippo: Yeah, The first to aren't original at all - Traub is probably the best map I've made to date. I hope to change this, and soon.

Ugh. Someone here Hijacked COSTROPHOBIA's thread to advertise his own map. I reported him to a moderator, but can anyone tell me how to remove it now? I don't want spam on my threads : (.

Although your maps are clean and professional-looking, the first two lack creative/original geometry. I suggest shying away from the typical boxy look and using innovative new stuff like interlocking to create a truly unique map.

Traub's looks are very original, however, and I really like that one.

And I like your self-challenge to build on all maps but Foundry. I look forward to the results....=D

    Agreed.

It also seems you have quite the obsession with turrets. You might want to consider removing some of them (specifically the first map). Otherwise, some are good, others need work. Good job though.

New poll is up: Should I remove some Turrets from Retribution?

Also, the hijacker's post is still there - any tips at all on how to get rid of his post?

The subject of your map's topic is "Post Your Maps Here",
It's a little bit misleading to put that in and then expect people not to Post their maps There, just make a new thread for the file, by removing the file from your file share and then putting it back on and making a new thread for it.
It's your fault if you title your topic: "Post Your Map Here" and then some one posts their map. A mod has no time to spare for foolishness.
Sorry if I sounded mean, but that's the truth.

But I like how you took the time to rework entire maps and bring them up to par.

Clean, professional maps, but as Lance said, the lack the originality.

Dom man. I saw your I am legend map and all your other posted maps. I honestly think they were very fun and I think that they got bashed around a lot because people assumed they were not quality maps because all they did was look once at them and not give it a second thought. Well I did my homework and I downloaded the maps and I thought they were very fun. Cannot wait until your next map pack, and good luck on your journey to guilderhood. You and I should forge around and test each-other's maps sometime.

:O Well, thank you. I'm glad someone else agreed with me that the game play was great in that variant. I'm thinking maybe some people didn't like it because the account I published it with was brand new, and thought I lacked experience in it... and maybe because I didn't post pictures until day 2 :p.

What I don't agree with you about is this - the first map packed sucked. I personally thought it was great, but it was taken unkindly to the viewers here. I'm glad someone actually liked them :p.

And for a third thing - thank you for reviving this topic, as I was quite content to let it die. Now more people will get a chance to check these out.
