Im am currently working on a website on freewebs.com. I dont have money thats why im using freewebs.com. I started on the website but I have no experience for making a website and I need help. So please if you are good, experienced, and want to help me. Please post here.
I am very interested in helping you out, but first, whats the purpose of website? Links for maps on Bungie.net? just want to know. Please PM me.
Please don't be a noob like Alex the great and try to compete with FH. Oh, and on topic, BetaWaffle knows alot on this subject.
Yeah I actually need someone to help to, but this is with invisionfree forums. Not to compete with forgehub. And I already have it started, and have a great basic idea. PM me.
I'll help you, and in fact everyone of you "to be" web designers. First off, There are much more free sites out there than just freewebs. Unless you directly want to code HTML or use one of their trash layouts, I would use another server that allows more. Freewebs doesn't allow file uploads, FTP, PHP, or custom scripts unless it is in the ISCRIPT (someone correct me, guestbooks use the script a lot. It's called something like that. And it starts with ---------ISCRIPT----------- or something. Someone back me up) First sign up somewhere like Newsit.es A great host. Allows FTP access (only thing is, they have a limited spot for people so it make take anywhere from a minute to 15 to actually be able to log onto your FTP account. But once you get in it's pretty fast), PHP, Fileuploader, MySQL bases if you want for forums, or two, or three if your heart so desires. Byethost.com Or you could go there. Not really my favorite but it's the first thing I ever found and is reliable, but doesn't offer as much as Newsit. When you are done registering and everything pick up a template from: Opensourewebdesign Great templates and even high income businesses use the layouts features there. Remember though, that if you have to edit and upload everything in the zip folder. After editing the index.html page in the winzip file of whatever template upload the CSS file through FTP and the editted index. I would save the index.html as a PHP though incase you might want to add a script later on. After so, add a script or forum if you want. NEWS: Cutenews Doesn't use a MySQL database. A pretty small script and is pretty easy to install, and add news and allows multiple user support. FORUMS: Simplemachinesforum Great forum. I would recommend this one. Uses a MySQL database and is pretty easy to install. Newsit and byethost should have an automatic installer too. GALLERY: Coppermine Gallery A pretty basic gallery. There are a lot of others out there. But this is the easiest one. You could pick up any script you want from Hotscripts.com or from 3dots.gr With all these steps you can create a website within an hour or two. My website. Still a work in progress. Animal Crackers. I'll help you if you want. PM me if you need help.
Is it just me? Or is it everytime I see him try to quote you L0N3 S0LD13R, it doesn't show up... :squirrel_wtf:
I can help too. I've made this website on freewebs: www.lightsandsounds.org. Its just about all the stuff I made, but I think its really good. If I can, I can try help others with their sites.
im not so good with freewebs, but i will just tell you this. Dont give passwords out to anyone, dont give anyone admin rights to your website, i know all the people in this post are probably 100% trustworthy, but just dont take that risk, there is always someone out there.
Or you don't use freewebs and allows multiple FTP accounts. :-/ Or at least multiple cutenews accounts.
