Map Title: JUNKYARD Zombies! Zombies! Zombies everywhere! Download JUNKYARD Download 28 DAYS LATER Description: This is Junkyard. It's a Map created with Infection(have a variant,more on that later) in mind,but could be used for one Bomb Assault. The main Junkyard building is a heavily fortified base with only one entrance(2 if you get creative)and one exit. The first way in is through the garage on the front of the building. You have to blow or bash your way through the pallet doors and get by the Gauss Warthog in order to do so. The second way in is more covert. There is a vent shaft behind the stairs that is closed up by a pallet. Bash that and you can drop down the shaft upon some unsuspecting humans with fresh,ripe,delicious braaaaaaainsssss!!! The yard around the structure,and the structure itself,are built to resemble a Junkyard. Some crazy interlocking and slick box placement give way to a messy,but controlled overall look. You'll notice that there is plenty of cover for Zombies so they are not easily picked off without a chance at storming inside the base. Inside the base there is an assortment of shotguns,battle rifles,and grenades. Also there is a one way teleporter to the sniper area.There is also a custom powerup(more on that soon). On the outside face of the base there is Rockets,Spikers,and Covey Carbines to go along with a Machinegun turret. Grenades are plentiful and placed on,in,or around the main building. And finally,out in the yard,if you find yourself defenseless just try and find the Fuel Rod Gun or the Gravity Hammer. Now, onto the gametypes. Basic slayer and team slayer will do fine on this and Infection is what it was designed for,however I haven't been able to test it yet. But I am pretty confident that I set everything up accordingly so it's a matter of seeing how it feels when played. You can download my custom variant which isnt much different from regular Infection. I call it 28 Days Later and it's main focus is improved speed for Zombies. Humans start with a shotty and magnum and its split even down the middle for teams to start. I also added a custom powerup that gives humans a Zombie killing machine for 30 seconds. With this you get improved speed,improved shields,a small amount of vampirism,infinite ammo,and a nice gold color! But as I said,this only lasts for 30 seconds and doesn't respawn for 120 seconds. From an aesthetic standpoint, this map looks really good. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to download infection maps anymore.
Looks pretty cool! I'm actually in the process of building a map that looks like your second picture shown here. Its funny how two people can have the same idea. This looks great for infection!

I am always paranoid that I am creating something that has been done exactly the same before,but I said to myself: "Self,don't worry about that,there's no way you can view every map ever created,so just do what you do,which is keep your pimp hand strong,score touchdowns,crush tacos,and forge maps!"

i thought it was rock out with your **** out? anyways, i like the unorthodox design of the building, although to me some of those platforms just scream for a mauler or two. i'd kinda like to see the humans have to take the risk of running outside to get BRs and other zombie destroyers, instead of just camping inside in a corner with their shotties.
Short of just throwing a bunch of garbage on the ground,the next best thing in my mind was to make a Junky looking building with some junk laying around the yard and make it look kinda cool. Other than that the only thing that concerns me is the weapon balance. I'm not sure if it works because I haven't had the opportunity to get people together and give it a try.
From an aesthetic standpoint, this looks good. From a competitive standpoint, this donsn't look like that much fun. It does look like a Junkyard but if you are seriously considering this as an infection map, I might change my mind if I were you. Odball might be good on this map, you should test that. Overall good work.
Well, like Cosmic Rick said, he isn't into Infection that much,and I understand that many people would agree. I built it with a Night-of the Living Dead stuck-in-a-house idea in my mind but the more I looked at it I kept thinking one bomb assault,oddball or a 'naut variant. But you make very valid points and thanks for the good words about the aesthetics of the map.
Is this map set up for all game variants (with some thought put into the objective placements)? If it is, I'd def. still consider downloading.
No sorry. The main focus was Infection. However it wouldn't take too long to make some changes. The starting points for teams are there so I would just have to add a flag point/bomb point and such to make it complete. In a nutshell you are only doing Infection,Naut, or Slayer on this right now. Come to think of it,this could be good for Single flag games,even though its pretty cramped. EDIT: I'll look into setting up the flag/bomb points and send you a PM if you're still interested by the time I'm done. I'll see if I can do it tonight.
