Echo Lateral is a symmetrical map with 3 lanes of conflict: The middle, and the two sides. The middle ground has curvature which creates a dome-like arena below. The sides are also two story and have fire arcs that aim inward. Teams spawn in the middle facing each other. Rush the top, rush below, or flank from the sides. Supported game types are Multi Flag and Team slayer. Overview of the middle-top Overview of the middle-bottom This is Side A. It has a sniper post overlooking the middle as well as the sniper post on the other side. Download Echo Lateral X Map made by Syzygy14 (That's me )
very good idea, I was thinking of making the same thing I've DL'ed and will edit this post as soon as I have tested it. After playing this, it was a very enjoyable experience, but the laser and sword were too easy to get to, and that bugged me, I can make the grenade jump 50% of the time.
Wow, this looks really good, very clean too. This nearly slipped through the drain to page 2, but I saw just in time. I like the idea of the hill in the middle and how you can enter it. Really nice post to start off your forging career. BTW If it's not your first map, then you should check out Forge Gallery.
This looks interesting. Might be fun for KotH or Territories. The walls look neat overall, but the ones like you pointed out could use a fix. Other than that, good work.
Ok the design has been changed and is now Echo Lateral X ("Echo Lateral 1.1" was too long). I'll update the original post with the new link and SS. Until then, here's the new design: Also, here's a good view of side A.
Huh? If you grenade jumped out of the boundary and found my reserve items, then you're stuck back there.
Woah... This looks great. Very nice aesthetic touches! Lol Also, for your sig, put Code: Echo Lateral instead of the long links. It might get more veiws (the ones this deserves) Once again, Fantastic job!
I finally checked this map out in Forge. Very nice use of interlocking and object merging with map geometry. They both work very well on this map. I also thought the symmetry was interesting, but it took me a few minutes to figure out the layout, and that it was flipped on the opposing side. I love the sniper perches. Not too powerful, but still a pretty good view. But you might consider reducing the ammo in the rifles since there are two of them on the map. I found a way to get outside the play area, near the B Side sniper perch. Is that intentional? If you climb up the slanted B Sign and stand on the top of the wall, you can actually throw a grenade at your feet and then grenade jump over to a little gap between two boxes. From there you can climb behind the wall. It's so cluttered back there. You should clean that up. I saw weapons and scenery and a way back into the map so I'm not sure if it is leftover stuff or if you planned on leaving that open for players. Overall, it's a decent map, and I'd like to play a game of Team Slayer on here.
