Alright, to the disapproval of some, I am messing around making simple sigs, and slowly learning vector art. So here is a Dexter themed WIP that is simple, with vector style blood. V1 V2 It seems like it is missing something, but what I add to it seems to ruin it's feel, any suggestions?
V2 is better because of the added color needed on the right, but there isn't much light/dark contrast. Looks good though, maybe some shadowing?
Alright, here are 2 more. I adjusted the white to a white of his skin tone, and added shadow. V3 V4 w/ text shadow
Yeah, like Stoj said. It gets rid of the vector sig I think you were going for. But the BG contrast is much better now.
Alright V5 I just took out all the shadow, but kept the tone. But ya, the shadow looked good imo, but it did take away from the vector feel. I also decided to try giving him a black outline (how do I make the outline a solid black one without having to trace the image? V6 But I am leaning toward V5 EDIT: Yes, sushi, this show is absolutely amazing. I think you might understand the almost "happy blood" feel that I gave it due to Dexter's attitude
For GIMP, do alpha to selection on the render layer. (right-click) And go to Edit>Stroke Selection with like 2 pixels.
What i do is alpha to selection, select>grow>whatever size is appropriate, and then i fill it in with black, unselect (so the blur isn't restricted to the selection area), and then blur, somewhere between like 8-15
Alright, I realize there is way to much read, and the pinkish gradient reminds me of a valentines card.... So I took that out, and added some black around the render, the border, and the text.
