Map - BLARGH Watch Your StepThe title has nothing to do with the map Everyone starts out on the ground around the man canon. Around that area you can find shotguns, rockets, a spartan laser, and a fuel rod cannon. If you go below ground you can find much equipment and a sniper (and a hidden hammer). Go through the man canon and land on the hill. You fight for the hill (deploying grav lifts and deployable covers where people land is usually hilarious). Things you should know: Everyone is invincible until they get airborne, to avoid spawncamping There's an armory below to get weapons and equipment There are some hidden weapons (fuel rod, hammer) There's a mongoose for hilarity (which usually always lands on the hill so you can ram people off) Trip mines and grav lifts and deployable covers are in the mix everyone is white when they are invincible So anyway, here's some pics: SLIDESHOW I hope you guys like it!
Re: BLARGH! :squirrel_grouphug: Nice combination of albatross hill and hobo heights, two of my favorite maps. Looks like a lot of fun.
Re: BLARGH! i forgot to get screen shots of the actual spawn points, so ill write it out. I closed off the man canon area and the area where over shields usually spawn, so you dont have a lot of room. this is to encourage you to get weapons and then quickly go to the hill
Re: BLARGH! This seems pretty similar to Albatross Hill. Did you try to do this, but add the platform? In my humble opinion, it is not very origional...
Re: BLARGH! well actually i wasn't even thinking of albatross hill when i made this some things that make it different: 1. people on come from 1 side 2. (obviously) theres a floating base which you always land on and have to fight for to retain. unlike albatross hill where you just go through and hope you dont get knocked down, you must fight to keep your position. 3. you dont lose points for not being in the hill 4. your invincible when not in the hill, to avoid combat on the ground (you can make it so you do no damage either, but then it would defeat the purpose of snipers and spartan lazers) 5. every time you play, you are rewarded with cake and fresh donuts hope that clears some stuff up!
Re: BLARGH! well the floating base is simple, but i forgot to take pics of the place where you start out, which is a little more crazy
Re: BLARGH! Great job on listening to advice, and congrats on creating a nice map, regardless of its roots. I like the idea, and the post is nice, too. I HIGHLY recommend renaming the map, lest it disappear into the murky waters that be bad-map-naming...
Re: BLARGH! Agreed on the rename. Hobotross Hill, maybe? lol This actually looks very fun, and I'm glad somebody combined two FH classics (whether you meant to or not). Derivative creativity is still creativity. So, I guess I'll go DL this and see what's up. EDIT: I wasn't serious about that particular name... it does seem appropriate, though...
Re: BLARGH! it may not seem original to you but I am sure he wasn't going into forge trying tomake a remake, besides, the gameplay is completely different than albatross.
