I just found this over at Bungie.net....straight from Shiska's mouth....err keyboard. He's talking about the user made content playlist. Source and some more.... So there we have it, no budget glitched maps, no flame grenades ect., lots of pictures, a few videos and an overall kick ass layout. Now lets get forging!
Hmm, very intriguing. We need to start paying better attention to some of the better MLG maps that are already not using the budget glitch. I'd love to see some of them in the mix. Is Gridlocked glitched, DtL?
Its glitched, but I can fix that...some aesthetics will have to go, but I can keep it under the budget if need be. Its had a few set backs....the wonderful dangers of using a budget glitched map. Its coming along slowly....I haven't had too much free time to work on it....but I may devote my time to fixing Gridlocked to meet these playlist requirements.
I'll be entering a map in due course... but I'd rather like to know whether interlocking and geo-merging is an acceptable glitch for their playlists. Presumably so judging by the MLG playlist, but who knows.
Awesome. Until now I thought the user created map playlist was a myth. Good find, if I had my Xbox I would be working away on a map right now. :[ I'll be damned If I don't see some ForgeHub material in this playlist upon release.
I saw that whole budget glitch embargo coming, but its still a shame. I can understand why they don't want to risk people's hardware though, and I guess its just a sacrifice we have to make. I don't think any of my maps would make it under the budget, but I'll have a go anyway. I'll get working on a new, unglitched map though, and it would be awesome to have my map on a playlist. I'm interested to see what you guys come up with though, and sincerely hope that Gridlocked can be brought under budget. If this comes to fruition, it would be really cool to have a compendium thread of all FH maps that are included, not least because it would help to reiterate how awesome FH is.
The budget glitch actually effects the internet connection as well Its sad because a lot of good maps were built using the built using the budget glitch. The real challenge will be to make an amazing map not using the budget glitch. It's time to go old school forge, lol.
crap now I have to make a map. nice find though best of luck to every body else. hey where is this on Bnet?
The end of budget glitch. Honestly for me: Hallelujah This means nearly any map can be made into an mlg map by simply changing the weapons. Plus that way there's no potential risk in downloading maps. However you guys can obviously still make them just not for this playlist.
Later in that thread Shishka says: Which would you guys rather see? Personally I'd rather see the maps go into existing playlists. Either way, It'll be interesting to see what happens to the maps on ForgeHub.
I think that they should add maps to existing playlists, but also add a dedicated playlist, for those people who only want to play on user-created maps.
Does a map count if it was previously Budget-Glitch and we delete items to make a normal budget map? This seems very interesting.
I can't speak for Bungie, but I don't see why not. If you bring a maps item number down to within the limits of the budget and remove the glitch (reset the runtime maximums on all objects) then you'd never even be able to tell that the map was glitched, let alone see a negative effect from it. I think that the rules mean that it has to be within the budget, even if it is brought down to that level from being glitched. Just remember to fix the runtime maximums so there can be no disputes over glitches.
What do you guys think about Hangar 02 v2 in a playlist? Whenever this comes (if it does), should I submit it? It has its own gametype though... Either way, I'm psyched
