    CP_Well (v2)
    A remake of CP_Well in Valve's Team Fortress 2
    Forged by: L30n

    Map and Game Downloads:

    CP_Well map
    CP_Well Game Variant

    PLEASE READ FIRST
The player traits have been modified in this game so that some of the games power weapons aren't overpowering like in regular game types. They have been changed so that they play more like regular weapons. If your going to criticize game play issues, i think you would have to play it first.

    Map Description

Well is a symmetrical Territory map with a 60 second set up time where teams can capture their first 2 points and group up at the gates before charging in to meet the enemy team head on in an epic battle over the middle territory and access to the Flame Thrower. Teams spawn in the armory rooms. while in the room they are safe from enemy attacks and only one way out, no way in. In the room players can choose they're "Class" by picking up the different weapons put out in the room. This is meant to recreate choosing their class in Team Fortress.

However, the Engineer could not be portrayed in Halo 3 because of the lack of the "building" ability outside of forge. The Pyro class can only be used if the team has access to the middle point by picking up the flame thrower, while the Custom Power up on the map helps portray the spy's abilities by giving the user a good camo, but reducing their damage output to 0 and resistance to 10%, making kills only viable through assassinations. The rest of the classes are represented to weapons found in the spawn room and/or through the equipment in the rooms (such as the Brute Shot and Trip Mine for the Demoman).

The First/Last Point teams will capture or defend. Defenders have a hight advantage, but attackers can look at their setup through the energy door.

The Second/Forth Point has a lot of tight areas and defenders have access to the rafters through their First Point. The Defenders must make their way through a tight corridor to get access to the point, which should be easy with the Flame Thrower they picked up from the Middle Point. Defenders can also get access to the rafters through the middle point to flank enemy positions and to take the height advantages.

The Middle Point is blocked off for the first minute of the round. Once open it reveals the enemy teams to each other and a blood bath ensues. Proper use of the Regenerators is essential to survival, so is using the Sniper Rifle to take the enemy teams Regenerator out. With all the distractions, players who are cloaked can take advantage of the chaos and try to sneak behind the enemy team and take out the heavy hitters.

    Also, beware of speeding trucks....seriously.

I hope you guys enjoy what you've seen in this little post, but i would appreciate if you would download and rate this map on bungie.net as well if it looks interesting to you. and if you get a lot of custom games together, try it out and see how your friends like it :]

If you like this map also check out my other Team Fortress Remake map Granary, a link to the post is in my thread. I'm also currently working on a 2Fort remake, so look forward to that as well :]

    Version History:

V1 aka: Granary-- basic set up was established.

V1.5-- set up was tweaked with the addition of set up doors.

V1.7-- Spawn room was finalized with weapons and equipment and a teleporter exit system that is disguised as a door.

V1.9-- The map was redone with more cleaner looking interlocking and look.

V2 aka Well-- final map finished with the addition of "trains" to give it more of a Well feel from the original game. (thanks to albino dave for giving me the idea)

i would tone down on the power weaons because from what it looks like there are way to many on this map. and you need a little more cover 2/5

I'm not seeing cp_well too much here, other than the truck which was a nice addition.

The power weapons are toned down a bit in the game type. damage out put and resistance are changed so a head shot is impossible and it takes about a full clip or the brute shot dead on to kill, a couple seconds of direct fire with the turret to kill as well. Theres also regenerators that are easy to get that should be in play most of the time. I know it looks like just a bunch of instant kills with each weapon, but im not an idiot and thats not the case when playing with the proper game type. :]

Woah! WAY TOO MANY POWER WEAPONS, Dude, like, theres 2 gunturrets, a fuel rod gun, Flamethrower, Needler, Sniper Rifle, and Power Drain. All in the one room. 1.5/5, Needs a lot of editing.

Agreed, armouries are normally frowned upon, in fact I haven't seen an accepted armoury since the defender's base in Storm the Beach.

    Plenty of editing needed, 2/5

I will say that this much better than Gravel Pit. You spread out the weapons a little more and it looks like you filled up most of the map; which was a big problem in Gravel Pit. I still think you could spread the weapons just outside of the base, then there wouldn't be such of an armory. Overall i say it's much more improved than Gravel Pit, but i'll still have to dl to see how it plays. I also frown upon the people who flamed this map without even seeing how it plays. Shame...shame on you ]:

thank you flaming. i think you can only criticize game play issues after you play it. you can say that things look like they would cause problems, but you can't say they do till you try it :\

Also, the "armory" isn't an armory, its supposed to be a spawn room. remember that this is a remake of a TF2 map, a game different from halo. so don't think of this as a true halo map, but a TF2 map of some sorts in Halo 3 game rules. If you don't know TF2 then this map i guess won't be that appealing to you, but it should still be fun. just try it out please before saying its total crap. if you play it and think its crap, then i'll take your criticism and see if i can fix the problems you state.

making the gametype so that the power weapons act like normal weapons is actual a really cool and unique idea. asides from that, i don't have much to say about the map in general... but it looks like fun, good job!

its very open looking, and the 2nd pic, the wall with the shield door in the middle, it looks very sloppy, take it out and add cover there, its a little pointless with that shield door and wall there, i always see maps with a wall with shield, ruins the map, looks ugly and has no point.

No, you just can't read. above that pic a gave the reasons behind it. I want that wall there to give some sort of barrier between the 2 point areas and i want the shield wall there to allow the attacking team to look into the defenders defense without fear of getting harmed. I don't want any cover on the second point. It allows the attackers to mow down the enemies on the point and have a fall back point where they can still keep an eye on things, where the defenders have the height advantage, but must give it up to advance or fall back behind their point to take cover. don't criticize it please until you've tried it.

Hey you finished it! Anyway, I would say Well is a hard map to recreate, but you seemed to do it very well. Too bad you couldn't make the underwater system sewers thing. I always like that part of the map. So yeah. I will download and what not. Still waiting for that 2Fort though. I'm running out of supplies on mine. :( I still want to compare mine with yours. Yeah.
