The purpose of this thread is simple. Talk about your favorite Indie music groups.

Anyway, yesterday I dug up a grunge band from Michigan called Asians in the Elevator. Check them out in myspace.

For a great source of Indie/Underground bands, check out GarageBand.com : GarageBand.com. There, you can find bands from all over the world, in every genre imaginable.

By Indie, do you mean the genre Indie or just independent bands?
And yes, there is a difference.

Anyways, Girl Talk is a remixer who mixes together other artists songs to make some amazing music. Check out his album Feed The Animals at GIRL TALK - FEED THE ANIMALS - ILLEGAL ART. You can just download it for $0.00 like with In Rainbows. It's amazing and I've had it basically nonstop for about two weeks.

Do music appreciation threads really belong in General Chat?

Seems like more of an off topic thing...

Rilo Kiley is probably my favorite indie rock band.....

EDIT: er, sorry, didn't read that post about Indie meaning Independent in the way you said it......be specific, oh-ehm-eff-gee...

Warning:Read the following only if you're a fellow Rilo Kiley supporter....or if you're curious, go ahead, whatever.

If any one else knows them (I'm pretty sure many know them just from their only song to cross over to mainstream, Portions for Foxes), I really really honestly believe that damned "Portions for Foxes" song isn't their "best" song. I mean, really, how is it better than "Does He Love You?"? That song is frikkin awesome!!! I can't believe Rolling Stones, of all people, would put "Portions for Foxes" on their list of Greatest Rock Songs of All Time, and NOT "Does He Love You?". It's absolutely ridiculous!!!

but....yeah, that banter is really directed only at other Rilo Kiley fans, go ahead and ignore that whole thing...

Jedi Mind is a cool group. Their newer stuff kinda sucks though, I like the older stuff.

I know, his shows are delightful.

Also, check out Spoon. You should all know them because they rule, but if you don't, go forth and listen!
The Way We Get By is a great song.
