    Hallo,

Is it possible to set the number of lives for the defenders separately to the number of lives of the attackers in Team Slayer, or any other Team gametype?

I'm planning a gametype but I'm not near my box until much later today. Can anyone answer this for me please?

    Thanks!

Hmm, I'm not sure I fully understand your question. Is this going to be multiple rounds? I'd be happy to try and help, just give me a little sense of what your going for.

    Cheers :)

Basically I want to have the defenders holed up in some sort of fortification (ok ok, twist my arm, it's a pillbox ;) ... it's for Shell Shocked).

The obvious gametypes would be Assault or Territories, but I wondered if it would be possible to make a Slayer game where the defenders are essentially doomed (as they were in the battle I'm recreating), unless they pull something amazing off. If it's possible I was thinking 20 lives for defenders, 50 for attackers. No round limit, just a fight to extinction.

I suppose it could also be an Infection gametype...

As far as I know you can't do that. My best advice is to make a Territories gametype with the only Territory ring surrounding the Defenders fortification. If I'm remembering an earlier post from AZN correctly, you can set the Territory to give your Defenders specific traits that override the Basic Player Traits like lower health or however you want to give them a disadvantage. The only drawback to that would be keeping your Defenders inside the Territory. Maybe set up barricades around the Defense zone and give the Defenders heavier gravity so they can't jump over it. You can also change the respawn traits from unlimited to a lower number, but your players might not want to hang around and just watch a long, drawn-out battle.
Anyway, hope this helps and good luck. I'll be looking out for your map and gametype.

Cool, thanks for that. It may not have been the solution I'd hoped for, but it actually gives me a better idea for setting the victory conditions :D

    Thanks!

Also, if you want to keep the Slayer game type, you could set it so when you are in the territory you have so many lives but the territories give you no points, only kills do. That way you have your lives worked out and it is still slayer.

So, entirely theoretical at the moment but this is the gametype I'm working on:

    Attackers:
    Team respawn
    20% shields
    120% gravity
    100% speed
    100% damage resistance

    Defenders:
    20 lives, instant respawn
50% shields (to simulate defense bonus)
100% gravity (to reflect their knowledge of the pillbox's embrasures)
    110% speed
    110% damage resistance

Does anyone know if this will work? :p
