Ok, here is my problem. The VIP is the tank driver. I want him to be as strong as possible so it takes the tank a good hard beating to go down. I have the damage to max, overshields at 4x, and non-recharging shields. When he loses all his shields, as long as he is inside the tank, he still will not die. If he hops outside he will die as soon as he is shot. Vehicles are destructible so I am lost when it comes to what my problem is here. I could work around this, and make it so the vip's allies have to finish him off, but that just over-complicates things in my opinion. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
I think certain player traits affect what vehicle you're in as well. I'm not sure, but I'll look into this.
So what's the overall goal for this game? Is your problem that the VIP is too powerful in the tank or not enough?
No, the vip's health is great.. it's just that when he loses all of his health, he will not die as long as he is in the tank. The only thing I can think of to do, is if the enemy vip's allies boarded the tank and finished him off.. which could be what I may have to do.
Yeah, that might be what you have to do. I'm going to assume that you've messed around with the VIP's health settings more to determine if the 4x overshield somehow makes him unkillable in the tank. So even in a destroyed tank he won't die or throw him out? Weird. Are you using a Scorpion or a Wraith?
I'm using a scorpion. I just lowered the damage resis. down to 500% and that fixed it I think, but that really messes up the game as the vip's would be killed extremely fast.
That's cool, glad you figured it out. If you haven't already, there's a thread called 'Reverse Engineering Research' that you might be interested in. They go over stuff like what you're talking about.
I have noticed that when you turn the dam resistance up to 2000%, it just takes a disgustingly long time to kill the player. Perhaps you just hadn't hit him enough. Otherwise to make him stronger I would recommend either slow recharge or 10-20% leech.
Alright thanks guys, I finally got it sqaured away. The concept of this game is rather simple, but it's going to need some extreme tweaking, testing, and balancing to get everything perfect. Probably more so than any map I have ever worked with before. If anybody wants to help with this it would be greatly appreciated. Just send me a message or an FR.
