Rock Band > GH3 Controller: Well, GH wins on the guitar controller. I have two X-Plorers and one Fender Strat, and I use the xplorer. Fender strat strum bar just doesn't seem responsive. However, that's the only category. Songs: Rock Band by far. Quite a few great songs on the disc, and all songs are unlockable through playing. No paying money crap. DLC is great. The individual (that's still cheaper than GH) and the discounted pack idea is great. Plus, upcoming full albums? man... Also the Unlock All Songs cheat was well done. It disables network play and saving, so it's really only for party play when you don't have every song. And, since my xbox decided to delete all my saves, I was happy with this. Co-op - Rock band, obviously. two extra players, Bass has a point because it goes up to 6x, a very well-made Band World Tour mode. It's actually a World Tour. And, while the leader must always be present and use the same instruments, the other players may change. Achievements - Rock band - Getting "Big" in each city is hard, and doing expert on each is hard. However, some of GH's achievements are stupid. 20 perfects on expert? Jordan/TtFaF on Expert? 5-stars on each song on expert? I prefer difficult, not ungodly impossible. Art style - I've never really liked neversoft's art style, and GH3 is no exception. Rock Band FTW. My score? Rock Band 4 - Guitar Hero 1. The only other thing is about the future. While Rock Band promises DLC and more songs, even full albums, a Rock Band 2 is either not in the works, or wont be released in '08. However, Guitar Hero 4 is already planned for a release in the '08 holiday season. </end wall of text>
plus something I didn't mention... signing (while I hate it), is very good for one reason: it requires zero video gaming skill to do it. If you know the song, you can sing in Rock Band. And while for me, I don't care, that gives it a lot of appeal for people who are generally non-gamers
Guitar Hero is 10101010183841704037 times better then Rock Band for, well, guitar. Rock Band drums are fun (I play real drums), even though I've only played the demo at best buy lol.
For versatility and and the fact that you can have 4 people play at once, I say Rock Band. On the other hand, GH3 has a better guitar and song choice.
I think GH3 is more fun to play, because I like playing guitar the most, especially all the hammer ons/pull offs. In Rock Band it's mostly chords which gets tiring to play.
I just hate GH. the guitar feels like a piece of crap and its not even that fun to me. I like Rock Band so much, because the drums are so much fun and the singing is just awesome. Its like karaoke on roids.
I like the GH3 guitar better than the RB one, because, idk if it's just my controller, my RB guitar's buttons are hard to press down, so sometimes, especially with my pinky, the miss notes cuz I don't press it all the way down without realizing it. But it also might be cuz my fingers are weak... but I play cello so they're not.
Rock band all the way. only because i am a drummer and the drums are really fun on that game, lol. but honestly it depends on what songs you like.
