I had past infection maps that used alot of turrets and now I am starting to think maybe turrets are to powerful of a weapon. I think turrets are alot of fun in infection, but other people say they make it harder for zombies. For my new map, I wasn't sure if I should add it or not. If I do add it, I could give zombies a custom power up that makes them stronger because the humans get to the turret after a couple of minutes. Of course the custom power up would spawn as soon as humans get to the turret, but I really am not sure what to do..should I just get rid of it or keep it. A third suggestion is maybe I should beta test with and without the turret. This map is going to be extremely fun and I really need help because I don't want it to suck just because of the turret.

Yes, I agree exspecially on fat kid its just spawn killing and they end the game with some people having over 100 kills

I say no turrets. I hate how they have unlimited ammo so a person could keep shooting the same area(possibly a doorway) for the duration of the game. Especially if the zombies are on one shot, bad idea.

Place a turret, but give zombies lots of cover on the way, and make like three other 100% safe ways the zombies could get the turreter, Then make the turret never respawn.

Or you can place it upside down to make players destroy it and have limited ammo.

as long as there's a decent way for zombies to take the turret out from behind then its fine, zombies should have to think and use strategy in a decent infection game

If you place in a spot than can be hit from behind and possible from the side, rather than just the front, than its fine. It just depends where you put it. But I would never put it down looking at an open area or at the end of a 1 way tunnel.

i think you should only put the turret if the zombies are strong and the humans can only do like 50-75% damage

Turrets are a bad choice for infection. The last few games I played had them and whoever was operating one pretty much owned the game. It's really unbalanced unless the operator has some sort of weakness when using one.

The turret that is at the end of my map is in a short distance from the zombies so I probably can put it on there. The map is a bit hard to explain so some of you people probably don't understand how it's going to workout.

It really depends on how strong the zombie is. For example if it takes one shot to kill them, it will be much too overpowered, and disappointing players, thus them not liking you map just because of a turrent. (No matter how good the rest of the map is) Although it also really depends on where you put the turrent. If it is right next to the spawn points, spawn killing will occur, making gameplay funfair, and actually quite irritating.

On the other hand, if the zombies have a power up, or have extra sheilds, it might be smart to put a turrent in a location were you would not use it much, so you would break it off, and use it that way. Other wise a turrent is still much to powerful for a zombie to withstand easily...

Use this knowledge wisely to make you infection map...

Offer wire spools in the areas with turrets. You can push them around with you and use it as cover. ;)

It makes no sense to have an absolute rule in your maps, turrets don't make sense on certain maps, but they are fine on others.
There is no bungie map which uses turrets well, but use turrets in a way where humans need to co-operate with the turreter to hold down an area, so the turret is only part of the defense.

Turrets are H4X in infection it could get people over 100 kills in the first round.

you need to make it a risk reward / situation, like having a turret watch one doorway, but make it so that if someone comes in from another entry, they can attack the turret from the top or from behind
