LOCKDOWN View My TinyFx Lockdown is actually my 2nd map that I've done. My first map didn't go over so well with the community (CQB), but I'm hoping that this will help redeem my name. Some of the criticism i got was about not having enough forging techniques included in my map, so I've used plenty of interlocking and merging objects with the map geometry this time 'round. I hope that the things I've done with them pleases the more critical members of Forgehub. Anyway, Lockdown consists of 2 bases, one on either end, and is a mostly symmetrical map, with a few minor differences between the sides. Each base is on a long, sort of zigzagging wall(i used interlocking to make the walls), and each comes equipped with some sort of turret, barricades, and of course, weapons. Towards the back, there is a walkway bridging the two walls. Each base also has its own sniper rifle, which sit adorn the towers next to the base. In-between the bases, is nothing more than terrain, cover, equipment, weapons, etc. Alot of places to hide, and plan your attack. Just remember, always watch your back. GAME VARIANTS: This map best supports: multi flag neutral assault team slayer FFA slayer WEAPONS: Battle rifle x 6 Assault rifle x 4 Shotgun x 1 (no extra clips) Sniper rifle x 2 SMG x 4 Plasma rifle x 4 Needler x 2 Brute shot x 1 Plasma cannon x 1 Mauler x 4 Sentinel beam x 2 Machine gun turret x 1 Plasma grenade x 2 Spike grenade x 2 Firebomb grenade x 2 EQUIPMENT: Bubble shield x 3 Power drain x 2 Trip mine x 1 Regenerator x 2 Deployable cover x 2 SCREENSHOT'S: Base 1, front view. Base 1, side view. Base 2, front view. Base 2, side view. Three way View of one of the sniper tower's. Sentinel beam spawn hallway. Bridge walkway's Walkway side view. The tower. Action shot. Action shot. Action shot. Action shot. Someone got incinerated... NOTE: I cant get the screenshot's bigger, i apologize, but you'll have to click on them to enlarge them. So anyway, if you don't like my map, then please tell me what doesn't appeal to you about it. I'm always wanting to improve my technique. But i do encourage you at least download this map and try it out for yourself before you start banging it. I hope you like my map, so if you do download it, then please enjoy LOCKDOWN!! Holy Crap........ Did you embed your pictures? Thy're so small! Fix it or it will get locked in 24 hours.......I would do it fast!
Well, i will give a more in depth review when your pics are larger. But the one thing im going to say at the moment is there are way to many grenades I dont even have to play it, and i know already that there will be too many. Not only that but you have at least 2 of every type, excluding frags. Also, too much equipment i HIGHLY suggest making a V2 that at least fixes those two problems that i see right off the bat. When you update your pictures, PM me and i will give a better review.
I think you might have saved it on the Bungie.net screenshot viewer. Open each picture up and save them. If you did do this, the problem is your online file host (Imageshack or Photobucket, etc..). Make sure that when you save the pictures you did not select the option to reduce it to a smaller size. Other than that you did fine.
If anyone can read, he apologizez about the screenies. Just click on them, you dont nee to ruin the thread by posting "FIX" comments on somthing that minor. The map looks great, really good for slayer. 4.5/5!
Well, you got the structure and glitching thing down, now it's time to think about your weapon placement. You have a ton of weapons, equipment, and grenades on this map, as well as breaking the "Power Weapon Rule" (2-4 power weapons on map). The map looks good, but I think you need to find some guides on weapon and grenade placement- there are great ones here in the Forging 101 section of the forum.
This map looks sick, but big pictures would be awesome. Use this guide to fix: Here at Forge Hub, a crucial part of map posting is having one embedded pic. To do this, here's a tutorial: First, go to Bungie.net to your page. Find the Screenshot Viewer, and double click the screenshot which you choose to upload. When you do this, an option should pop up asking you what you want to do with the file. Your screen should look like this: Click Save to Desktop, or wherever you would like to save it to. Next, go to a site like Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket to host your image. If you do not have an account, create one. When you have your account made, go to your photo album. There is a blue bar that says "Choose files" that should look like this: Click that blue bar, where the red arrow points to(arrow added for dramatic effect). Upload from wherever you saved the file. Now, after the file has uploaded, scroll down the page to your picture's thumbnail. There is a list of options, like this: Copy the highlighted link, or direct link where the arrow is. And yes, that is Chris Hanson Last step is coming back to here, where you enter the final direct link into the code( [ img]link[ /img] ) without the spaces. Hopefully, that helps you out. Any questions, PM me To find the rest of the important rules here, click this link. You have 24 hours to fix this thread, or it will be locked. No one else post about it not being up to standards, or a mod will be contacted. Thank you. Thanks to Norlinsky for the sweet guide.
you should fix the turrets to be the same, a plasma cannon is nowhere near as powerful as a machine gun, looks extremly cramped, and the floor needs to be interlocked on the south side( opposite of the original bases for default foundry)
The images are a little small but the bases look good I like your use of geomerging and merging. I especially like the three way I never thought of that and it looks really cool anyway there are downsides I saw a couple of your merges were a little of not much(not saying mines better) like the fence walls by the bridge walkway while on the topic of bridges "I" would have flipped them and merged the slightly with the box just to make them look better. overall 3.8/5 or stretching the ascetics 4/5
seems pretty good for your second map. i see geomerging and interlocking but the map seems a bit powerful. Heres a tutorial on weapon placement: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-forge-discussion/21146-evan12075s-guide-weapon-placement.html.
as promised, i am back with a better review I love the bases, they look uh-mazing =] the field itself has many places where you could run behind something for cover which is really nice, and a good thing the aesthetics in this are also very good, looks smooth, clean, and well forged the gameplay im sure is good, looks fun for two flag, but like i said earlier i dislike the amount of equipment and grenades, too much and too many if you ask me but overall it is a good map 5/5
not bad. i havent seen bases lke that for a while. i would take out the setinal beams and make a central base. other than that it looks good 3.5/5
