Lord Terrax Switchback started as a experiment when I had seen the "wall of coolness" map and a video on youtube. I wanted to see if I could incorporate these switches and ladders and so on into a playable and aestheticly pleasing map. The same friend that helped me with Zap Zone helped me with the original design for this map and it was not pretty... I deleted all of his stuff and kept mine (the ladder and building attached and structure with grav lift door) and added in the teleporter door and the tunnels and The Awesomeness (thing with 3 levels) and the elevator trap. This map is playable even though people usually think that switch maps arent good to play on since they are too complex... I do have a map like that but this is not it so I hope you enjoy it and please give me some feedback on it (this is my favorite map and I want to make it better). There is a teleporter interlocked into the door that teleports you to a reciever that is concealed by the wall. The wall has a teleporter in it that teleports you back out into the area on the right side of the pic. Overview that shows the awesomness, a tunnel, the ladder, a little of the grav lift door structure and the building attached to the ladder. Teleporter blocker... Go through the teleporter and pick up the custom powerup to release a dumpster pushed by a man cannon and block the teleporter. The next teleporter leads inside the building attached to the ladder. This is on the backside of the ladder building. This is a trap/teleporter to the sword. The dumpster is released when you take the camo and it usually depletes your shields but sometimes kills you (counts as by guardians) and it reveals a teleporter to the sword that is caged in the first level of The Awesomeness. This is the grav lift door and shooting the fusion coil opens it since it is blocked at the beginning of the round. The door usually works but if it doesnt just crouch and shoot the grav lift inside the cage. This is The Awesomness! Its not that awesome but its cool and I couldn't think of a better name . So its got a Rocket Launcher in the tunnel, a Fuel rod on the second floor and a Sniper on the third floor. The trap/ teleporter leads to the sword on the first floor. Here is a compilation that gives an overview... I couldn't fit the map on one screenshot so I hope this will do. Download Switchback P.S. You may notice that there are no barriers or shielded doors on this map. This is because as I was deleting the part of the map my friend made I deleted his fort made of all the barriers and shielded doors and since I built this on a Money Glitch Canvas I was unable to get them back. Because of that I think this map is lacking but it gives alteration options as far as weapon sets due to the Money Glitch. There aren't many objects left because I used almost all of them. The only things left are Fence Box's, Street Cones, Road blocks, some single boxes and thats about it.
Seems like a cool screw around map, i do these alot, just to see what new items i can create in forge
its awesome!!! i havent seen that many switch maps, (both maps in my sig have elevators) great incorporation, as i do know many maps that have switches are very low on budget....anyways, good job 3.9/5 keep it up!
I like the "idea" of the map, but it looks like you didn't put much time into the interlocking and just through most of it together.
i like this map it looks like it can play well but could we have an overview picture to see ALL of the map please
Thanks for all the positive feedback... I am working on a V.2 and yes looking at it again I agree with King Psycho. It does look a bit like Kentucky Tango. But thats a great map so who cares.
This map looks "ok." It is very complex which I know is time consuming, but you gotta think about the gameplay. 3/5
