Questions: 1. How do I make the 'rain' effect. 2. What format do I save my picture in so it can be animated when I embed it? I have animation in an image of mine but whenever I save as a GIF, PNG, or JPEG it doesn't show up when embedded. +rep for whoever answers these questions correctly!
For rain, create a new layer on top of every other layer and fill it with black. Then do a "Filter > Noise > Add Noise" and use these settings: Amount: 400% Select "Gaussian" Check "Monochromatic" You should see a large amount of black and white dots in the preview box. Hit OK. Then do a "Filter > Blur > Motion Blur" and use the following settings: Angle: Anything you want. I usually use 60 degrees. Distance: Anything between 25 and 30 works the best. Now you're done. Set the layer opacity to somewhere around 10%. It will be very hard to see on the still image, but believe me, it looks fine when you have the animation in place. That's all you need for one frame of your animation. Hide that layer, and repeat these steps two or three more times (you only need 3 or 4 different frames for the animation to be smooth). I'm not 100% sure I understand your question. Are you asking what format each frame needs to be in for when you prepare the animation? It shouldn't matter.
I have an animation in my Photoshop. I save it as a GIF and when I upload using imageshack and I embed its not animated.
So you're using Photoshop to prepare your animation? Photoshop is not an image-animating program. You should use Imageready.
Well photoshop has animation in it. Window > Animation. I create some frames but it doesn't end up working. Could you give me a link to imageready?
i had this problem as well. You have to save like this... FILE > SAVE FOR WEB & DEVICES On the right, make sure it says .GIF then say ok. This should fix your problem.
Well, when I say it's not an image-animation program, I mean they didn't put much focus on that because it's not the main intention of the program. Imageready used to be shipped with Photoshop (assuming you've had PS for at least a year and didn't steal it). It's pretty much identical to Photoshop's animation system, although it's more advanced, so I don't suggest you use that. I recommend Ulead GIF Animator; it's very simple to use. Google it and you can get a free trial.
