Obvious lag played an obvious role here, but according to the Host's xbox he was not really standing there, and the host box was reading it as you just shooting at a wall.

If you were to find the guy who had host, and have him sent you the video, and you were to watch in the exact same angle, the guy wouldnt even of been where you were shooting.

That has happened to me so many times. It makes me so angry its just lag and host that mess it up like Penguin said.

ya i just tell myself " i am playing halo". So much bullshit everytime i go on now. But you will just have to deal with it. For example, have you guys every lunged at someone with sword, hear the woosh and nothing happens? For me it happens every second lunge :(

I get that sometimes, but its even happened to me in a split screen with my guests, so I don't think its always a lag issue. The sword is kinda sensitive to how clear your lunge-path is, I've often lunged someone and got caught on a doorframe as I lunged them round a corner, or got caught on a lip when I try to jump up and lunge someone on a level above me. Its true that sometimes its just broken though, I've had multiple occasions in MM when I fully lunged someone in a completely open area, heard the noise as you say, but nowt happens, then I invariably die.

As for the vid, Penguin is correct, host's box didn't register your shots at the same time as the guy was standing there, so you see blood on your screen cause your xbox thinks he was there for graphical purposes. But, as is so often the case, 'host says no....'. Its painful to watch when it happens to you, especially when they seem to be able to snipe you no problem, but I find that lag-effects that bad are pretty rare.
