Of our little Hub of LAN Party-goers, I am the only one with the DLC and one of only two of us that even has Xbox Live. Sure, it's fine enough for me to go Forging my maps and have the odd splitscreen match on them with friends, but most of the time I have to play them on Live.

Anyway, since our custom matches at LANs are limited to Non-DLC variants, what are some of the best variants of the original maps? So far I have Tunnel Raid, and that's alright but the bases can be slightly unbalanced at times. We're all for gimmick maps, too, so long as they have some level of playability.

We usually have anywhere between 6 and 12 people, if that helps.

    Thanks in advance!

There's a Grifball court, or field rather, on the beach of Last Resort which has become a favourite at LANs, we find it's too small for more than 4 vs 4 though. Where on Sandtrap was it, do you know?

That Tremors thing with the 2 guys driving the choppers is pretty fun.

If you and your friends are into racing maps look at the post in the Racetracks section of this forum by c u l8er, his racing maps are very well down, he even did a 'loop d loop' on Last Resort.

Any silly map is great for LANs in my experience. My rave flag one is great amounts of fun with rave music in the room ^^

well, you actually only need one heroic map pack per two xboxes:

I'm calling your xbox Xbox A.
I'll call the second one Xbox B.

An Xbox Live gamertag bought and paid for the map pack on Xbox A. Therefore, the map works for anyone on Xbox A.
Xbox B does not have the maps. So, you move the gamertag that bought the maps on Xbox A to Xbox B and sign it in. Go to download history with that gamertag on Xbox B, select Heroic Map Pack, and download (will cost nothing).

Now, Xbox A will have it. Xbox B will now have it so long as that gamertag stays signed in to Xbox Live. So, just play on that second xbox, let someone else play yours, and you're all set!

EDIT: I totally posted that in the wrong thread :squirrel_nono:

The above idea would work were it not for the facts that we usually have about 4 360s to minimize split-screening, and that we rarely have internet access at LANs, or else more would probably have the Heroic DLC. Still, I'll remember that, could come in useful.
