    Iceberg Run

Creator(s): Ideas by THE Fuglystick and konakid904, made by THE Fuglystick

    Racetrack name: Iceberg run

    Map: Avalanche

    Gametype: HaloTracks - Gametype

Overview, covers about two thirds of the map.

    The Start

The big u-turn. A man cannon boost is on the wall. From here there are three paths as designated by the various power ups. Red and yellow paths have an extra man cannon boost. the blue path(middle) does not.

Second view of the paths. All three take you to the bridge.

The bridge to the finish line.

The finish line is at the end of the bridge. To make the transition to the ground smoother i placed a shield door bounce down so you keep your speed and a smooth landing.

The banked turn. Heavy inspiration taken from Glacier Rally if you can't tell. That map was inspiration for this track.

The big straightaway back to the start. Plenty of room to let your mongoose's horses out.

You go under the bridge and you're back to the start.

    Description:
Alright so I'm a lone forger by heart. I don't mind collaborating with others on occasion, but I work best on my own. This map is an example of that. One day konakid finally managed to get me to forge with him and I told him we should do a track on avalanche. He agreed and said furthermore that he wanted to make a map similar to glacier rally. So we set to work. Or I guess I did. While we were talking over Ideas I made a banked turn similar to that of Glacier Rally as per his request(he was the one that thought of it). After that I signed off because I had to go to work. Later that night after I got off I set to finishing the track as I had imagined we should with the plan to show it to him the next day. I didn't know that he had collaborated with porkchop21pc and finished the rest of the track(this version is called frosted freeway and is also available on my file share, since it is a three way collaboration I will let one of the others post it). So I decided to keep this version as my own and I spent about a week tweaking, changing, and testing the everliving crap out of it till I ran out of ideas. I would have released this towards the end of July when it was finished, but I wanted to release it with a video. Unfortunately, My computer was out for repairs so I couldn't do any capturing. Thats why I'm releasing it so late.

    Spotlight Questions:

    What inspired your creation?

Glacier Rally was the big influence. I had wanted to make a speed track on this map for a while

How long did it take to create?

The map took about 7 hours to make if even that much. The testing and tweaking took much longer. I'd say i've put about 18 hours over several weeks of testing into this map to make sure I was satisfied.

What aspect took the longest to get right?
The Shield door bounce down to the ground was the hardest to perfect and make cheatproof. That or the ramp to the banked turn and the gravlifts and shield doors to stabilize your landing on it.

What is your favorite part of the track?

I like the shield door bounce. Sometimes you can hit it in the right spot and the transition will be so smooth its like you haven't left the bridge.

Edit: I forgot to point out that there are three separate viewing platforms to watch the race from. You can access them by heading into the teleporter near the starting area. It doesn't do much in the way of racing, but Its just a little touch I added with some money I had left over. Thanks for all the comments so far!

avalanche allows for some epic racetracks and this is no exception the bridges are very neat and the energy blockers look great the ramp curve is very neat.Personally i dno't like the halotracks/racetracks gametype maps{just my opinion i find them simple} but this is a very neat well laid out interesting track.

    First rate work well done

Thanks. Its not my first map post(I'm a mapmaker on halotracks, yes I know lots of people dont like us, sorry!) but its my first one here.

Thanks for commenting on the aesthetics, not too many people notice them.
