So for those who are wondering... here is a small example of how complex AC4 really is. This is from a discussion on the ACO Threads about Top Speed/Acceleration started 26 Dec 07.

And the post goes on and on with a bunch of guys who actually delved into the game mechanics... This is why I can't stop playing the game. There is always something new to learn.

AZN the complexities of this post are mind boggling. I might be too dumb for the game. lol, If I get some money I'll give it a whirl.

This is just to show that there is ALWAYS more to learn about the game. I am still learning more of the complexities built into the game and I have been playing since US release (March of 07). The replayability of this game is amazing. And for those guys who like technicalities that will make them that little bit better at a game (like knowing how many shots will kill someone with a BR, except WAY more complex) then this is the game to show your skills.

There are alot of little things built into the game as well. You can hear minor beeping on Lock-on and when someon loses lock-on. You can barely see the opponents PA gauge on their reticle. Stabilizers can increase stability, increase speed, increase turning speed, increase EN drain, etc. Tuning is used as skill points and there are over 30+ characteristics to tune with a current max per trait of 50 and a total max of 337 (should be increased in the expansion). the combinations are endless. And all of that is just on the building side fo things. You still have to learn all of the piloting tricks, which are like one in a freaking million. There is ALWAYS room to improve...

No the actual game is already out... in english. Those screenshots are for the expansion which releases this year. No one knows the US release date yet. The Japan release date is March 08. The expansion is called AC4: For Answer.

For those that don't know what he is talking about here are the screenshots for the upcoming expansion:

I am looking into buying this game. I used to have the original Armored Core for a demo on the PS1.

I loved playing it over and over it was great, even if it was a demo.

I am wondering though, is there online playability? Can you have massive mech battles with other people?

AC4 is almost the exact opposite of it's sister-game, ChromeHounds. AC4 is about speed and kicking ass, CH is about slow, strategic warfare, all planned out with a commander, if necessary. AC4 has an amazingly fun single-player, but the online isn't as fun if you're not playin ur friends. ChromeHounds had a sucky single-player, but an amazing online mode. I'm just waiting for Sega to combine the two types of games and make the best mech game ever.

And no kidding the whole stats deal with the mechs was utterly confusing. Me and my friend Lord Fausto would pump out totally awesome mechs, going like 700 miles an hour with 2 grenade launchers and angel wings (thats how i roll lol) but we could never replicate them for other designs unless we used a copy of that data. it was totally random and luck had a great deal to do with it.
