The Impaler

    Welcome to the Impaler! My first map posted on the bungie forums. I wanted to create a small map idealy for 2-8 players. This map has been setup for all gametypes but is best played on Slayer, CTF, Territories, and Assault.

    The Impaler is an irregular shaped Symetrical map with two bases. Each base also has a gap in the floor to drop into the bottom of your base quickly if needed. The floors are made of fence walls to keep defending and attacking bases interesting. Flag spawns, capture points, and bomb plants are located on the second floor of the bases.

    Just so everyone knows, these are all the weapons and equipment placed on the map.

    Other things to note:

    1) I started making this map quite a few weeks ago before the unlimited budget was discovered, i used up my entire budget on this map and thought i used it in the best way possible.
    2) The only way i have discovered to get out of the map is by grenade jumping but if it happens you can easily drop back in the game by going to one of the many teleporters outside the map.
    3) I did take advantage of object interlocking when it was necessary.
    4) I do plan on recreating this map with the money glitch if it becomes successful. Please leave constructive criticism to help make this the best it can be.

    It sounds interesting enough... I can't see the screenies cuz I'm at work (stupid firewall). From what I see, the weapon balance may be pretty off. Flame grenades, 2x Camo, and 2x shotgun... ??? I will probably check this out later to comment on the aesthetics of the map.

    Can someone please criticize for me... I feel so useles...

    I don't see why it's called the impaler... I was so hoping for a grav-lifted pointy death of some sort.

    Now that would be fun.

    I have to agree with AZN though, it does sound pretty unbalanced. I guess I should play it though before I say that.

    Weapons are not balanced, the map looks messy in some areas, and I'm also unsure as to how close the active camo is to the shotgun. If someone were to take both these, it might lead to an extreme, early on, disadvantage. Screenshots only show me some areas of the map as well, therefore I can't criticize you or dl until I have seen the entire map. Please post some more screenshots that show the entire map all in one shot. Thanks.

    after reading the criticism ill definitely change up the weapons and probably ditch the camos.
    i didn't really think the camo or shotguns were too overpowered from playing games because it is quite fast paced.

    i plan on recreating the whole map with more interlocking and with the unlimited budget.
    when i made it kind of just started throwing things down and a few places ended up slightly sloppy because of that.
    now that i know how the map is gonna be set up it will be much easier to make sure both sides are exactly the same.

    i hope when i bring out the newer version it is more successful

    i had the hardest time trying to come up with a name so i decided to pick a random name.
    its actually a song name by a band called Winds of Plague lol
    i was listening to it at the time when i was thinking of a name haha
