I know i have posted loads of threads on rock band but i have another question ..
My brother and i were playing rock band world tour on expert (make a setlist) and we were playing a song and we got gold stars even though we never both had 100% ..
And when we get hundred percent we don't get gold stars anyway .. ?
We got very confused so i thought i'll ask here ..
    Hope you can help!

Maybe you both had a score equivelant to the perfect rating score... This won't do anything but what song was it? =p

I don't quite understand the gold stars in that game, either. I've 100% a few songs, but I've only ever received gold stars for one song ever, and that was with a 96% hit rate. What the hell do you have to do to gold star it? Do you have to do well on the solos or get all the overdrive gems or what?

This should clear things up for you. You do not I repeat DO NOT need to 100% the notes to get a gold star rating. Gold stars occur when you reach a certain score in the song. The reason they do that is because it all depends where you use Overdrive in the certain song. If you use Overdrive at the right spots you gain more points for those notes and you score will increase at a faster rate. This may not make any sense but go play Welcome Home and use the Overdrive when you get the Unison Bonus at the beginning. If you get two stars by the time Claudio starts singing then use it during the chorus's of the song and the solo. To gold star Welcome Home though you need at have five stars before you reach the solo though. Its like that for a lot of songs just read the manual that came with the game it tells you when to use Overdrive on certain songs.

Ps. My Gold Star songs:Welcome Home
    When You Were Young
    Say It Ain't So
    Seven
    I'm So Sick
Should I Stay or Should I go
I think theres 5 more but I don't have rock band playing so:lol:

Well, that makes more sense. It seems like an odd way to go about awarding them, but atleast we know how to get them now.

Ohhh ! I see .. so its just when you do well and you have x 4 everytime you use overdrive and always use overdrive at the right times you get gold stars because the score is so high ...
Wow never would of guessed that !
    Thanks!
