Whenever I try to join one of my friends Halo 3 games, it doesn't allow me to join them. So what I'm wondering is TGIF 13 will work seeing as you can't join a friend of a friend's party?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just using halo 3 as an example.

This thread should have been in Customer Service (I think)

Maybe when it's saying you can join they may be searching in the lobby - it has happened to me before. You can only join the games if they are in the pre-game lobby or if it is a custom game. TGIF is usually a custom game.
    Hope this helps

No. You Iz wrong. I help you.

Well, let me start off by saying that can set the party you're in to the 3 different settings:
    • Invite Only - Only people that get an invite from someone in the game can join.*
    • Friends Only - All of your friends, and friends with people in the party may join.*
    • Recent Players - Recent Players, Friends, people that get invites, people that have you One-Way. *

*If There are enough openings in the party

So let me explain what I called One Way.
Anyone that can directly click on your name, being people that recently got a message from you and still have it there, people in your friends list, people that have the friend request pending, people in your recent players.

However Two-Way people cannot join you whatsoever. Unless, that is, they get an invite. So a friend's friend isn't directly linked to you. There's someone in between. A recent player's friend is also not directly linked to you, a recent messager's friend is not directly linked to you.

I made up the names One-Way, and Two-Way, to make it easier to understand. These terms do not exist in Xbox Live language, from what I know.

    Hope I helped =]

It's because party leaders will send invites out to people in the TGIF friends list.
