There's a Halo 3 gamer charging Microsoft Points to people's credit cards without their permission by jacking their Xbox Live accounts, changing the password, and then buying as many points as he can.

Here's what happened to my friend and forgehub newcomer:
    norder [IMG]

    Junior Member

ForgeHub Halo Forums - View Profile: norder

Norder and myself had been on a three game winning streak in slayer along with another gamer by the name of MLG PEEHEAD that we had met a few games earlier. He is a general and Norder asked him what his 50 was in. He explained how he was a 50 in 6 different gametypes and had gotten the 50 instantly by using software that he had been given by a friend. He then offered to get a 50 for the both of us the same way. I said I wasn't interested but norder, mainly because he didn't believe the kid could do it, said he would try it. Looking back, of course it was foolish to trust someone he'd known for three games and even foolish for wanting to obtain a higher rank the wrong way, but that does not justify what happened next. MLG PEEHEAD told Norder to text him his email address and Windows Live password and he would have it done within 10 minutes or so. Norder logged off and waited. 15 minutes later he went to log back in and noticed his password had been changed. When he got on his computer to try and log in there was an email in his inbox confirming the purchase of 1000 Microsoft Points. Luckily Norder was able to have the new, changed password sent to his email before he could purchase anymore.

Norder was gullible......he admits it. MLG PEEHEAD only stole between $15 and $20 from his credit card. What makes me mad though, is thinking about how many kids he does this to and how much money he may have stolen total. Even if he only did it once a week that we be over $1,000 a year. If he's doing it more often we're talking about grand theft.

I'm posting this because I know that the forgehub community can come up with an elaborate plan to take him down. I can see the headline now:

Online Band of Vigilante Virtual Engineers - Forgehub - Uncover The $300,000 Microsoft Point Bandit.

If anyone has any ideas let me know. The bandit's name is MLG PEEHEAD and can be found here:

    Dude...he is just stupid.
Everyone on the xbox live community knows that it breaks Microsoft policy to give your account information away.
That guy is not at fault, but instead it is your friend.

He ask for his password! the only people how could fall for that would be a complete internet noob, gezzz! Well it least it was only $20. Anyways, try contacting Microsoft, maybe they can get some info on him. Oh and by the way he only had 295 gamer points.

Remember kids, don't give your password to anybody!

They won't do anything. Again, it is against their policy to give away your info.

That guy sound like a real jerk, but your friend should have known better to give away private information to someone just because he could increase his rank. Sorry

Same thing happened to me, except I never gave anyone my password.
My Live ID and PW were the same, and when I recovered my GT, I'm $250 poorer and 20,000[IMG] richer.
However, if you do not purchase any content with the MS points, you can call 1-800-4MYXBOX and get a full refund to the credit card. This process can take up to 3 weeks, so be patient.

    Scare

At the very least I was hoping someone could come up with a good way to scare him and make him think twice about doing it again.

Also nitrous, major lols at that joke.

Your friend wasn't just being gullible, he was being stupid too.

Wait whats the first rule of being online? Oh yea never give out private information.. **** how could he of missed that one?!

    Harsh

I used the words foolish and gullible in my post. I think stupid is a little harsh. Norder is not stupid. He's an impulsive kid and I'll bet that the Halo community is made up of 36% impulsive kids. Plenty of easy prey for this jerk that takes advantage. I'll say it again. Norder agrees that he should never have done anything like that, but it doesn't justify theft. MLG PEEHEAD is in the wrong.

Sory, but your friend is a dumbass. He deserves to lose $10. I never use a credit card for MS anyway. I think it's only a matter of time before someone sues MS for not protecting card info (or has someone already?)

How can you blame a guy for stealing your car if you hand him your keys?
