Bah, I come back from college and discover this is already down on the 3rd page.

Has anyone playtested or even done a forgethrough of this yet? Some actual comments regarding the playability of the map would be nice.

I just ran a forgethrough of the map. I liked the the map for the most part, I liked the look of the large shield doors placed on their sides on the first floor. However, I think that the doors on the top floor should be removed because they look out of place and make the map less smooth overall. I liked the elevator system, but when I first went on the elevator I picked up the second power up on accident and went up both floors, missing the first one. But other than that I like the map, and how it plays. I'll give it a 4 out of 5.

Also, are you supposed to be able to get that needler underneath the floor by at the bottom of the elevator shaft? Because I can't seem to be able to get under there.

EDIT: I just realized, that you put the doors there to cover the holes in the floor. And I noticed the drop to the 2nd? level. So I suppose the doors are fine.

Yeah the doors are there to cover the holes and they work as nice weapon platforms to make the weapons easier to spot. Plus one of them marks the drop down to the 2nd floor. Oh and you can also use them to jump onto the pillars and surprise players. All in all I have good reason for the doors being there like that, I could've interlocked them in with the floor but overall I prefered them they way I have them.

The elevators do take some getting used to, thankfully you can just jump/drop between the 2nd and 3rd floors though so it doesn't ruin gameplay if you go to the wrong floor.

The basement is accessed once someone has used the elevators. A hole will be left at the bottom of the shaft where the dumpsters used to be. This gave players somewhere to go when someone else had used the elevator so they don't feel completely stranded on the first floor. (Though that is why I also put deployable grav lifts on the first floor as well, so that players could still get to the other floors without requiring the elevators)

Thank you for your review though. If you intend to play it with some people then be sure to let me know how it went and if you thought it all seemed well balanced.

aww... it's buddhacrane's first map that isn't confusing. lol. the lay out looks pretty interesting it looks pretty complex and it looks like it can provide very fun gameplay. the elevator is used very well too. i'll DL and give it a forgethrough and get back to you.

P.S. I cant wait for your next map...

    OMG major bumpage!

I made this waaaaaaaaay before Distortion. Infact I made this as a side project while working on Re on Carnation.

It was after making this map I decided regular competitive maps weren't my skill and I took a break from forging for a bit.

The new map is coming along nicely, albeit slowly. I think I may have it finished by the end of next week, ready for testing! Hopefully this time I will show that I can actually make a good competitive map, lol!

Interesting fact: This slayelators map actually does some movable scenery merging with grav lifts, months before it was discovered! I guess I just took it for granted that people knew how to do it. (Check 'em out under the grating where the elevators are)
