Well, the past generation console games have had tons of cheat codes. But the current generation has easter eggs. I mean look at Halo 3. Ever since online play, cheat codes just seem to not be put in the game anymore. Which I can understand. Your thoughts?
Easter eggs are usually really cool, but so are cheat codes. I think cheats should be able to be used in games except in matchmaking. I used to have a Gameshark for my gameboy and Action Replay for my gamecube, but nowadays cheating devices are kinda lame.
Easter Eggs are only good if you are the first one to find it, then it gets boring. Cheats are awesome and they should have a comeback. GHIII is the last newest game I saw which had cheat codes. Cheat codes give different ways of playing which can give it more replay.
The Orange Box had some cheat codes, but they didn't do anything especially exciting. Unfortunately, most of the cool things for games these days are only on the PC.
I like cheats such as ones in Goldeneye that allow enemies to have big heads, paintball bullets, golden gun. Pretty much just fun cheats. Easter eggs are cool too, you feel accomplished if you find one by yourself.
Guys, there is a cheat code on Halo 3. It's called debug mode, foohs. But you can only activate it on custom games and local network. You have to do this combo: RB, LB, A, LST, RST, ^ on the D-pad, hold all of those for 3 seconds. You gotta click the LST and RST down. That puts it on the normal setting. But do this all over again but this time change to < on the D-pad. That sets it to pan-cam, which is good for getting out of maps in theatre mode.
I agree, cheats should have a comeback. I miss the day when u could mess around with cheat codes on just for fun. I mean, obviously, no cheating online, and achievements dont unlock when you are using codes... but i think there should be more cheats in games. button codes, cheat menus, whatever it takes. That was so fun back in the dayyy
Itd be fun, but only if they could only be used offline. If you are even logged in to xbl, you shouldnt be able to use them.
I'm pretty sure the next Grand Theft Auto IV should have cheat codes. GTA has always had cheatcodes and i'm sure that it will still have cheatcodes. And if you really want a cheat code you could mod your xbox. :-/ Just kidding.
Haha yeah GTA with unlimited ammo, dodo car, etc. is really fun. I can get across the bridge to other worlds on GTA III with dodo bird cheat + a tank xD And has everyone forgot about Crackdown? Keys to the city anyone? But yeah, cheat codes are always a bunch of fun, they've kinda been pushed into the closet by both developers and people who game to find secrets, like easter eggs and cheat codes. Devs have become more occupied with graphics, easter eggs, and replay value (see CoD4 prestige), and the secret finders = Easter Eggs and GLITCHES.
i remember the days of tony hawk for the N64... unlimited manual and such. cheats were so much fun back then.
Cheat codes will always be around. But in other forms. I see more games having a hint system that can tell you where to go if your lost. Games sometimes have unlockable cheats. Though some games shouldn't have cheats, some should. Tony Hawk was a somewhat hard game at times, it had cheats and alot of the time people would just turn on the cheats and beat it without a second thought of doing it the real way. Same goes for The Sims. I'd like it if every game had some form of cheat that made the game more fun, such as grunt birthday party. But in the end I'm fine without them.
They say Two worlds is the Poor man's oblivion.... :squirrel_giggle: Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A START KNOW THE CODE
usually fps's dont really need cheats because they amke them to easy and its ones like rts's that need them. fps games usually have things that make them silly like funny guns or unusual ammo.
i think games like GTA, are games which should not be released without cheat codes. they just made a game that was once boring (from playing it loads) to bieng fun again. Cheats like invincibility all weapons invisibility Low Gravity (amazingly funny on any game) Nail Gun mode (its on hitman 2, and it is so dam funny)
