Hello guys. This will be my first post here at Forgehub. Big thanks to Yapperface for bringing this site to my attention. Anyway, without further adieu, I would love to introduce to you... The Line - v1.1 (The Engineers got bored and decided to place some bets........ 2-4 Players.) Description: This map is meant to be played as a 1 v 1, or a 2 v 2 due to it's size. The map concludes of Two levels. The bottom level has two sections. A and B. Both of them are linked through a tunnel at the middle (Which holds a needler), and 2 stairs on each side (4 total). The 2nd level is shaped like an H. The big bar and 4 branches, 2 going in each direction. Just watch out for the Fusion Coil traps on each side. The engineers like to be a little tricky. Now that you've seen some photos... Time for the statistics. Weapons ---------------- Respawn Time ---------- Spare Clips ----------------- At the Start? I'll update my map later on if this catches. Special Thanks to VirtualAllen for some help with construction. DOWNLOAD Any Feedback is welcomed. As long as there is no slang, I'm fine with it. Thank-You.
It looks like the map is quite good but your pic are a tiny bit too small. All you need to do is resize them from a picture hosting site. Click the link on my signature if you are not sure how to. (At least they are embedded.) Your post is nicely presented and that is important here so I wish you good luck on improving your post
The pics are working fine for me so I will give you a bit of a review. Understand that I have not downloaded the map because my Window's Live ID got screwed up and I can't log onto Bungie with a linked gamertag. I think that this is a very neat map despite the lack of interlocking. You look like you took time to make it neat and you actually had an idea of what you were making before you started, that is very important. Although I can understand that you created this map to be a straight-shot across Foundry, it seems to rely on sheer slaying power. Anyone who is good with a BR could get a partner and themselves to have map control easily. Maybe if you create a V2, include a back route to the other end of the map, just so you can flank and bring some strategy into it. I love the fact that you didn't go overboard on the weapons when you were placing them. The only power weapon is a sniper with 1 extra clip. That would make a very good balance in the map, because it seems to contain a lot of cover, and enough diagonal shots (which some people won't think of in a symmetrical map). That's basically all I can review without downloading the map. I don't want to give a false review and beg your pardon if I have in some way. For your next map, I would recommend you try looking at the Forge 101 section of this site to see some more advanced techniques you can use (I already mentioned interlocking, that would remove bumps created when you walk across the double boxes for example).
I appreciate your review. It's quite accurate. To be honest, I didn't even think of the Diagonal shots when I was making it. I had a layout, and I just went from there. If you really want to play on the map, give me a shout on Xbox live. I'll be online. As for the interlocking, it was 12:30am when I started, and 3:00am when I finished. This was a nice beta test for me. I'll give interlocking a go in 2.0, as well as figuring out the prime location for this map.
When i played this map, it was reasonably fun 1 on 1, but despite it's size, I think it was best for 4 players, free for all, so no one player could exercise map control.
