    *** Sinking Teleporters ***

"Teleporter Sinking" (also known as "portal tapping") is a very helpful technique that I use frequently in forge for getting to places outside of maps that Bungie never intended for anyone to go.

    What is Teleporter Sinking?
The concept behind this method is that you can actually sink a two-way node into the ground and then simply teleport yourself down to it using another teleporter. Don't get too excited though: Although You can sink a teleporter into virtually any type of surface on any map, unless there is an open space big enough for you to fit in on the other side, the teleporter will appear blocked and you will not be able to go through it. Most of the time it is only possible for you to get into spaces that you can see from above. Any transparent ground such as glass is usually game for "sinking".

    How To Do It:
Important: You will only be able to "sink" an object as long as you are NOT the connection host. To achieve this, you must have at least one other player in your party (guests do NOT count) and that person must be the connection host. The first thing you have to do in order to sink a teleporter is to place a two-way node or receiver node (standing upright) directly above wherever it is you want to go to. Next position yourself a few feet above the bottom of the teleporter (about the same hight as the top of the two-way node). Focus your aiming reticule on the bottom rung of the teleporter. Next rapidly tap "a" grabbing and letting go of the teleporter node. Doing this should push the teleporter down into the ground. Continue tapping "a" until the bottom of the teleporter falls out of sight. Finally, simply build another two-way node and go through it. Important: You may have to crouch or become a monitor in order to make it through the teleporter.

Just because this is called "sinking" objects doesn't mean that you can only go down. It is also possible to sink a teleporter horizontally through a wall as well. However, don't try pushing things through walls until you get the hang of it ;)

Don't feel bad for posting something you thought others would find to be useful, just try searching first and then posting.

I did look around the forge 101 guide before I posted, I guess I just missed it. :/ Then I found that guide later and didn't want to get rid of all this.

It's okay. Complicated things like these need to be worded as many ways as possible.
