When I built my first serious map, I learned a valuable lesson that I'd like to share with those of you who are kind of new to Forging, like me. Before you start building anything on your map, go in to each of the different gametypes and delete the annoying spawn points that Bungie places for the objective gametypes. For example, the ball spawn point in Foundry that's always placed in the middle of the map (even on canvas maps). I tried to make a KOTH variant in this map after I'd finished building it, only to find that there was a hill marker set in the middle of one of my main structures that I couldn't delete without rebuilding a huge chunk of that structure. As a result, that map does not have the KOTh variant capability. A damn shame, since there are a couple of areas that would be perfect hills. I've thought aabout going in and fixing it, but the map really isn't that great anyway. Just thought I'd drop some common sense knowledge that I had to learn the hard way.
This was a common and frustrating problem among me and my friends until I made a special version of Foundry Canvas. In Foundry Canvasish, all of the goal objects for each gametype have been moved into the red locker room, or "base." That means that you don't have to worry about goal objects until you're ready to place them into the map. Also, the window panels for the bases and the doors in the back hallway have been left in this map because they are a real pain to put back in if you want them, but are really easy to take out. An alternative way for you to solve your problem would have been to set all your objects to not start at the beginning of the round, start a new round, delete the goal objects, and then re-edit the objects to spawn at the start of the round.
i love canvishish, though i wish you had left the other doors in there...i use it as my canvas...if you have any inclanation to do any otehr maps, that would be awesome, btw so yea use canvishish and you cant loose
The regular Foundry only has those two doors blocking the middle of the back hallway. The other four doorways are open. But I'm glad you use the Canvasish.
orly? i didnt know that lol played it like twice ok i take that back: canvasish is ... shake well before opening, then preheat oven to 400 degrees, place awesome inside, cover in 1337 sauce and sprinkle with a healthy amount of win. serves 8,000,000, and is best chilled. and yes, you can quote that lol
if you really wanted to you could just slowly drill in to your map by changeing your objects so they don't spwan at start and get the marker that way...
if u do the forge and theater trick on sandtrap go to the frigate and then to the right of it on one of big tall structures like right in front of it is a rainbow looking egg so its a easter egg of a easter egg thought i would share that knowledge =D
Why didn't I think of that? :squirrel_blush: [Off Topic] Welcome to forge hub please take a minute to read the Rules Also, If you want canvasish mixed with the unlimited money glitch, see my sig... oh no, I've become an advertising monster! Take the OP's advice.
You just beat me to that! Yeah set objects to not spawn at the start, delete the offender, and change everything to spawn at the start again.
I agree! My first maps that I made weren't good to begin with but where messed up when I didn't delete all the left overs Bungie placed.
Just set everything not to spawn at start, so you can get the hill marker out, then start a new round and reset everything to spawn at start and set the hill where you want it.
Yeah I set the object to not spawn at start and fixed it. Thanks for the tip, guys. I've used that method to fix a lot of things since I figured it out.
