Bridge of Blood: fight your way across the bridge for an arbitrary goal! Well, I spent a good chunk of time on this map. It is a bridge with two towers opposite each other serving as bases, and one tower in the middle holding Rockets. This map was very loosely based off of the map Bridge Crossing from America's Army, but only superficially. (three towers on a bridge, 4 pillars [crates] on each side of the middle) The map itself is a bridge two boxes off of the ground, with a tunnel running underneath holding the shotgun. Each base contains a Sniper and cover so that the sniper may be put to good use (i.e. killing without getting shot). If one falls off of the bridge, he can attempt to re bridge himself by taking one of the two starways back to a base. But at the midpoint is covered in fusion coils, and should an enemy see him trying to make his way back up, he will meet an explosive end. Map is set up for CTF, Slayer, and Oddball. Recommend a SWAT CTF variant to make the map super tactical/winly. This is my second map where I have employed blending/interlocking objects, so if you DL it, please tell me how I did. Shotgun in the middle, mancannon on each end for coming back into the bases. Just walk into it. The middle tower. Grabbing one of the grav lifts on the side of the tower is the easiest way to reach the rockets on the middle of the top, but they can be reached with a jump off of a crate.
From the pics, it looks like you might have some bad spawn/weapon placement, the map itself looks pretty well put together. I like the overall design, ironically, I was just thinking about that something like this would be pretty cool, than I saw your post appear, I guess I'll have to try it out. The name doesn't sound very good for what appears to actually be a good map. I'd suggest a name change, and a little revision with the spawn and weapon placements.
Is there only one passage through the bottom shotgun corridor? if so, you might want to think about adding one
I urge you to play the map before passing judgment on it, as the way things look isn't necessarily the way they play. Also, post-carnage feedback on at least one of my maps would be a nice change.
