The Maze of 8 (A new style of map)

The Maze of 8... Created by the worlds most intellectual scholars intended to be used for soldier memory research.

I created this map while thinking of ways to keep a map fresh and new, yet still the same map. I started out by simply making a few rooms with the only access being sender nodes. A few rooms turned into 8 different stations. 4 are rooms and 4 are stations to be technical. I then played around with the surrounding area trying out different ideas until I decided to turn about 3/4's of the map into a maze. I did leave a nice patch of open area for face off battles. I also built the maze thinking mostly about the kind of angles you have from each room. I gave one room with a sniper rifle and excellent shot at people who end up in the arsenal, the arsenal has good angles over the maze itself... ect... Every last detail was thought of in the making of this place, right down to the placement of the re-spawn points (you never spawn looking at the sender nodes or secrets.) I even made it so that as soon as you are teleported to the floating sniper station you are automatically invisible.
I have hidden a laser inside the map as well. You'll notice that the map consists of mostly heavy damage weapons, rocket launchers, shotguns, brute shot's ect.... I figure heavy weapons in a closed in 3/4's maze, 1/4 open map could turn out interesting. I've even provided a man cannon in the maze that will shoot you from inside the maze out to the 1/4 open area.

Here are descriptions of the rooms/stations in "The Maze of 8"

The Suicide Booth - End up in this room and theres two choices, wait for someone to come along, or take your own life (with fire grenades)... Your choice!

The Explosion Box - Wind up here and its difficult to survive the guardians... but I promise with some natural skill you may be able to escape!

The Arsenal - Send yourself here atop the maze and consider yourself lucky, because you now have the biggest baddest weapons at hand!

Chopper Launch Pad - Grab the shotgun and hop on the "Choppa" 3..2..1.. Chopper engaged! Shoot yourself across the map in style =)

Floating Sniper Station - As soon as you teleport here you automatically because invisible, perched above the maze with a scope =)

Window Sniper Station - You may not be floating... but you have some great angles, backup weapons, great cover, and a view of the arsenal.

The Battle Box - Every type of nade by the dozens, two rocket launchers, closed in space, you do the math, (must grenade jump to escape.. or die.)

Machine Gun Turret Station - You have a turret... an beam rifle... and a mongoose for quick escape... not to mention great angles and perfect shots at the arsenal!

Well I wanted that to be a kind of "catch you off guard factor (speaking of the chopper) Like having the first guy find it and shoot out, then everyones like "what in the world!?"

I also had never seen anyone build 8 different stations and what not, not to mention i'd never seen anyone mix a receiver node with invisibility. Plus not many people use sentinel beams on their maps.

I also had just never seen a part maze with a nice open area to fight in and different stations to kind of use as bases.

I was very careful with the way i placed the re spawn points also....
I just tried really hard to keep this map confusing and frustrating because that sets a bar for other maze maps.

I spent about 2 weeks perfecting this map and I still get confused and lost sometimes when i play it.

And I had never actually seen a suicide box lol
It brings like a "omg lets hope i dont end up in there" factor to the map along with the exlosion box.... idk... im about to get to work on my second map here soon.... any ideas? I'll use the techniques i just learned like budget glitch and interlocking to make some sort of 2-6 player boxed in thing unless someone has some ideas?

In the very last picture, the box on the far back right with the machine gun turret on top... thats it.
lol just a single wall against the real wall, then an open double box, put 4 fire grenades and a receiver node inside, then shut off the other end with another single wall. Then i basically used it as part of the map too... nobody ever sees the suicides happen although sometimes you can see the fire from inside the box lol... its always hilarious.

Updated the fusion coil drop timing. Also replaced one in-maze bruteshot with dual smg's

 

Currently working on a new map.... Something never seen before.... and will blow everyones mind i PROMISE.... its taking me countless hours and more to go! so download this one to get me in the spirit lol
